New TV Series to watch

How good is Sons of Anarchy? My roommate says it's better than Breaking Bad, which I find hard to believe.

It's ok, but not better then Breaking Bad. After a while you will notice it has the same formula every season.

It has its ups and downs. At times, it is really fucking good. But at other times it is really fucking bad.

Overall though, I'd say it's worth the watch.

It's awful after a couple of seasons. I don't even "hate watch" it because it got so bad.

If you can find a likable character, then you might be able to stick with it. I can't.

Did you watch this past season? It was a step up from the previous couple.

If you don't mind a spoiler that could get you back into the show (very end of the previous season):

Gemma stabbed the shit out of Tara (to death) and it was glorious

I saw it, glad it happened, but it doesn't make up for how awful the show is.

Yeah, I've just watched this much so I can't stop now. I'm glad this upcoming season will be the last.

I'm waiting for the last season to get on Netflix. I'm behind on SOA. Season 5 was cray though. Breaking Bad level craziness (isn't half as deep though).

I find that SOA is really hate-watchable and in later seasons when the dude is given simple free reign on running time, he abuses the shit out of it. There's maybe a solid 44 minutes in each over stuffed episode. Basically you can fast forward if you get bored cause there's a chance that 99% of the stuff won't matter at all cause the club will always win and murder every adversary and the keystone cops will never be able to charge them with anything.

SOA isn't close to Breaking Bad for me. It feels super unrealistic while Breaking Bad seemed to keep that more realistic and relatable element to it throughout.

breaking bad is arguably the GOAT. not just drama, but of any genre. sons of anarchy doesn't even sniff the top 10 dramas, much less top 10 overall.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I knew it had to be too good to be true. I don't see a show topping Breaking Bad for me in a long time, if ever.

Sons of Anarchy is one of the better bad shows on TV. It peaked in season two, had an awesome season three finale (although the rest of that season is pretty forgettable), and generally stays dumb but entertaining.

Plus, you get to see
Lem get blown up again
. :chuckles:

I actually may have skipped a couple of the early SOA seasons. I probably should go back and figure out what I didn't see.

Oh, you have to. Early SoA is way better than what has been on TV recent years. I would kind of relate it to Dexter. Really good early-mid. And kind of tapered off as it got into it's late seasons.

Yeah, Breaking Bad is sort of in an "elite" category w/few other shows for me.
