New TV Series to watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
They beat the Hand and a building came down on top of Daredevil and Elektra. Everyone assumes Matt to be dead. Elektra too, but no one cares about her.

There. You're all caught up.
We need Christopher Walken to read that before Episode 1 of Season 3 of Daredevil begins.

Yeah. I enjoyed it. Bullseye was cool if a bit hokey at a couple moments. It’s a superhero show whatever. Liked it.

I loathe your nonchalant attitude regarding the genre I love

My favorite thing about Bullseye was that cocky smirk he used whenever he was in the Daredevil costume. Fits the character perfectly. Really going to be a shame if this show isn't renewed, because that was a fantastic season of television.

Haha. Trust me, I don’t mean to diminish it at all. I’ve been enjoying the superhero movies and shows a lot. I’m just not as big of a fan as some of you guys. And I definitely don’t know any of the source material as I’ve never picked up a comic book in my life. I am definitely loving Daredevil. Hope it isn’t getting canceled.

The third season of Daredevil is honestly probably the closest any TV show based on a comic has ever gotten. And I don't mean that it's a literal page to shot adaptation like much of 300 or Watchmen, because it doesn't directly adapt any one comic story, but rather that I think it just perfectly captures the spirit of the best Daredevil comics.

Daredevil in the comics has always been at his best when he's involved in organized crime stories. Sure, sometimes he runs into supervillains, and sometimes the mob employs supervillains, but by and large his best stories are all dealing with Kingpin, Bullseye, and organized crime in general. And the third season basically does just that. Nothing supernatural. No Hand bullshit. Just a good story about crime and corruption. And it works.

That explains a lot. You are apparently not used to crossovers. Something that is very very common in comic books. In order to read all the chapters of a story arc, it is a regular thing to have to read other series of comics that are not the one you had been reading, as the various heroes have a shared universe. As has already been mentioned, you really only need to watch the one season of Defenders for everything to fit nicely together. Season one and two of Daredevil, then Defenders, then, the third season on Daredevil. In that order, everything works.

One thing I noticed is in season 3 they really tried to make certain scene feel like you were looking at a each panel from a comic. They reduced the camera movement and made the background completely still.

Castlevania season 2 is out now Netflix. I really liked the first season and it's nice to have this right before Halloween.

I think if they did a show with Willa Holland and Colton Haynes (Roy Harper) it could have worked. Those two are best friends in real life so I think it would have been easy to get the chemistry to work on screen. Colton is returning to Arrow this season as a series regular so hopefully that will correct some of the problems with the current cast.
I'm in the middle of catching up on Arrow and it was nice seeing Roy Harper back. Loved Speedy suiting up again as well.
I finished the last season of Legends and you were right about Wally. He fits well on that show.

Cant believe I haven’t seen anyone mention Haunting of Hill House yet (maybe I missed it). Show is fantastic. The story is amazing and crafted in a cool way. I for one was super scared watching it, but even if you’re not, the story draws you in and you are definitely sucked into figuring out what’s going on.

For those that have seen it, there’s a bunch of featurettes in the filming. The director filmed everything with really long takes. Episode 6 in particular had a 17min continuous shot that they had to build the entire house set around. It’s one of my favorite new shows in recent memory.

Haunting of Hill House is on my list.

Netflix also just cancelled American Vandal. They aren't messing around with closing up shop on things lately.

I think they realized that they don't need to have so many damn originals, and so they're pruning a lot of the stuff made from outside studios for Netflix and keeping the stuff they make in house, and the stuff that's just insanely popular.
