Non-Varejao Trade Ideas

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Boston will definitely be looking to make a trade

Hopefully we can get involved

I hope so. Pierce has the shortest bloated contract that ends in 2014. It's worth it to me for an unprotected 1st.

Rondo may have torn an ACL...Boobie/Livingston and Speights for expiring contract and unprotected 1st?

They are sitting in the 8th seed right now and just lost their best player, I highly doubt they will trade an unprotected first just to hope for a chance to squeak into the playoffs this year. If the Celtics were smart, they would look to get some value out of KG and Pierce while they can.

Both are garbage.

Danny Ainge is a very smart man and that ain't smart.

Ainge is smart sometimes and really stupid sometimes. I mean, this is the same guy who gave Jeff Green 35 million despite the fact that, you know, he's Jeff Green.

He's their LeBron slower downer. Played great yesterday in the little I saw. Probably worth the money if they face and beat the Heat.

Yeah he really slowed LeBron down:
34 points, 16 boards, 7 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block.

The Heat lost that game because of Wade (6-20 shooting), Chalmers (0-3), and their shitty bench aside from Ray Allen.

I only DVRed through some crunch time (4th, OT, 2OT) and his defense on LeBron was key in some really big stops. LeBron got those numbers because he's LeBron and that's the Heat. But Green was the 1st good reason LeBron couldn't make a lot of those shots at the end of the game. The team D made Jeff Green's D that much more valuable. Can't say much more, didn't watch the first 3.

Jeff Green might not satisfy the high expectations people put out for him, but what he does for the Celtics is valuable and doesn't grow on trees.

Doesn't Gee do that for the Cavs for 4 mil a year? :D

I still wonder what type of player Green would be if he was drafted by a team where he could have played significant minutes at the 3. Is that developmental window gone?

Minnesota is over the cap, realistically out of the playoffs this year, and has a disgruntled Kevin Love. With Tristan playing as well as as he has, do you think there is any way to build a package around TT and our draft assets to pry Love away from David Kahn?

I thought about that. I don't think David Kahn will be willing to trade Kevin Love for another year, at least, but it would never hurt to see. With Tristan playing as well as he has, the question is if it would be wise to deal him (in a package, no less) for Kevin Love? I'd be more willing to move draft picks and Dion Waiters now, than Tristan. If I had a gun to my head, and the possibility to add Kevin Love was there for just Tristan, I'd probably do it, but if I was thinking about it, I'd probably overthink it and hold onto Tristan.

Tristan is already a very special player defensively. I don't think he's tradeable. For the same reasons varejao was not tradeable. You don't trade guys that have the potential to make all defensive teams. chicago made a big mistake trading chandler, and they got lucky to get noah. If you trade tristan it has to be for an all defensive teamer. Love has too many holes in his game, he's not an elite player.

Love is an elite scorer and elite rebounder.......
