Official Brady Quinn Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
PIP I might give you Sanchez eventually but I would never want Cutler..

Cutler, to me, is a glorified DA with alcohol and leadership issues... Not only is the guy waiting to implode on the field but off of it also...

I'd certainly take Cutler over Quinn, I'd take more then half the starting QBs in the NFL over Quinn. I'd even take some back ups.

I'd take Cutler over Quinn...without question.

I'd obviously take Cutler over Quinn right now too, I'd be foolish not too..

But I'm talking about Cutler in general and wanting Cutler and thinking he'd be a franchise QB...

PIP I might give you Sanchez eventually
You won't have to.. He's gonna make you do it with his play on the field... (He's got it all and alot of it doesn't have to do with his physical skills)

My subplot is Orakpo however... Got some extended playing time today and got that first sack...

You'll end up seeing the light, Smooth...One day..:chuckles:

This isnt the NBA

You cant just plug one position player in and expect an entire team to play better

Any QB we have will get killed becuase we have no right side of the line. Our Offensive Coordinator looks like he has NO CLUE how to attack a defense with the players at his disposal. I saw run up the middle like 80% of the time on the first two downs AGAIN

A veteran QB would be pointing a finger at the playcaller and GM right now

Not defending BQ, just saying

Sanchez would be fractured by now and would be flinching behind this line with this playcalling...reminiscent of Tim Couch

Nor will that player necessarily be successful in the NFL ..

Quinn at best has always projected to be just an average NFL QB. I never understood the weird love affair most fans and the local media had with him. I can imagine the outrage and criticism that would have come if the Browns would have drafted Sanchez. Not that it should have factored into draft decision making.

At this point you stick with him and he should start next week. He is still a young developing QB. A team could win with him but he needs a lot of talent around him and is not a QB who can lead a team or raise a team up by mainly his own talent.

It also was shown that the dink and dunk passing game is largely due to Quinn himself and not totally on the Browns offense since Anderson was able to go downfield yesterday--even though it ended up in the wrong hands a couple of times on those passes.

Troy Aikman notched a big zero in his first eleven games as a starter. ... just a thought.

please dont try to compare troy aikman to brady ....its not even close

Huh? I can name a number of QB's who sucked big ones in their first year. I guess you didn't get my point that Quinn has started 5 games only? Aikman was 0-11 in his rookie year. Look how he turned out? Aikman was on a sucky team as well. So is Quinn. You simply do NOT treat a rookie QB as Quinn has been treated. You just don't.

Everyone stating how bad Quinn is does not know about any history of the NFL, and specifically, the NFL QB's.

Should the Browns abolish the quarterback position?

Going into Baltimore with the most anemic offense in the NFL, you knew the Browns were in danger of going 0-3 for the season. But even the most cynical Browns-watcher could not have expected the debacleization that occurred. Cleveland started with Brady Quinn(notes) throwing six completions in eight attempts for 34 yards (way to air it out!), no touchdowns and one interception. But with nothing going on, Eric Mangini decided to replace Quinn with Derek Anderson(notes), figuring it couldn't get any worse.

Wrong-o.

In one half of football. Anderson went 11-of-19 for 92 yards, no touchdowns, and THREE picks. He also took a sack in a rare Browns red zone play, when he ambled around, trying to avoid pressure, and fell down. Haloti Ngata(notes) thanked him for the free sack. Anderson was throwing pop flies into stacked coverage in a display of horribleness the likes of which you will rarely see. Baltimore destroyed Cleveland, 34-3. What are the Browns to do?

At this point, I think it's best to just put returner/receiver/former college quarterback Josh Cribbs behind center on every play. The Browns are at their most dynamic offensively with Cribbs in the shotgun, running their "Flash" package (their version of the Wildcat), and it isn't as if there's anyone qualified to throw Cribbs, or Braylon Edwards(notes), or anyone else, the ball. If the Browns hope to be competitive at all, they should scrap the traditional offense altogether and go option-read all the way. Or, they can alternate between two quarterback disasters in perpetuity, until the latest Belichick disciple is fired and they start this nightmare all over again.

Browns fans, you deserve better than this.

I have no idea why he's an analyst either. It's not like he's that bad at the job either... It's just like, how can Bart Scott take him seriously (and I don't think he does), who I think is a total douche bag and does suck at his job, but has at least done stuff in this league.

How can you take a guy like Quinn seriously when he's done absolutely nothing in the NFL.

He is a better analysts than Bart though. Bart is talking out of his ass and doesn't even have the facts straight.
