Jim Rome has been relentless on Canada for the last few days, which I'm assuming is the genesis of this thread. But we appear to have un-jinxed Canada.

You put 3 in bold like it's some massive accomplishment, Phelps has gotten two in one night on a couple occasions in these olympics. And isn't Shaun White one of the best snowboarders? Pretty sure he runs train in the olympics...

I really have no idea...it's not like they have a shortage of athletes who participate. They have well over 300 athletes in China for the games. They have probably the worst medal to athlete ratio in history. Maybe it's the French influence. :chuckles:

Quality over Quantity... + the funding for the athletes sucks over here.

With the exception of Yao, Who i belive is 3 asians stacked on each others shoulders

China should win everything, they certainly try more than anyone else. They kidnap children from their parents when they are 3 and then have them doing gymnastics 100 hours per week until they are eligible for the Olympics. I heard Yao's parents were forced to conceive him inside of a nuclear reactor in an effort to increase the height of their hoops program.
My understanding is that every Chinese athlete that doesn't medal gets executed too. Still, I guess it's a better existance than being Canadian. :chuckles:

China should win. If we beat them in the medal count it will be a huge slap in the face. You know they have had this circled on their calender for quite sometime to finally try and prove themselves.

But also I heard that this is the first year for Canada that every time one of their athletes get a medal they get a cash bonus. Guess it is not working so hot.
