Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I guess not lmao. I'm pretty stoked tidal wouldnt let me sign up and spend money. saved myself $20 on an unfinished album.

Wait, so it isn't actually done yet?

What the fucking fuck.... :chuckle:

That's the genius of it... So raw, so eloquently vulnerable.

I'm really enjoying TLOP. I'm hearing things I have never heard before in an album in regards to flow, sampling, producing, etc.

King Kendrick raking in the Grammy's. Can't wait for the performance.

This is a very good write-up. And I fully agree with the bulk of it until this last paragraph. The admittedly lackadaisical lyrics keep it from having any sort of real theme or cohesiveness. I think the fact that he changed the tracklist a couple of times heading into the release shows that he was just throwing tracks together at the end.

The funny part is that I've seen a few professional reviews reference the whole Picasso thing and that's not even who the album is named after. Kanye admitted it's named after Paul the Apostle, who he must think was hispanic.

Thanks. I need to spend more time looking at "Pablo" lyrics, but he's had a few groan inducing ones these past few albums. I guess I'm a little blinded by the nostalgia of his early career as there were some genuinely funny lines sprinkled throughout ("Slow Jamz" still cracks me up). This Kanye seems pretty humorless. Like any of his albums it demands more listens, something I certainly plan to do.

Thanks for sharing about the Paul, the Apostle thing as I was pretty sure it was a Picasso nod. Still, I can see why the Picasso bit is so appealing for a reviewer or to match the Kanye character growth.

Speaking of art, it seems he's positioning himself as the Marcel Duchamp of rap and exhibition hip hop Dadaism. Is it art? Is it true hip hop? Is he worthy of the genius label? This is not a pipe. The answer is yes and no, and that's what makes the argument and talk so engaging every time he gets the spotlight.

God MC.

Even got some new shit in there.

Anyone know why the Biggie reference was in there?

I think stronger was remixed like 12 times by 12 different people before Timba finally got the kick right for Ye.

He's anal.

Fuck man, when you compare Kendrick's Grammys performance and Kanye's SNL, seems like they are not even in the same league. Sad for Kanye.

Seeing Kanye at the Governor's Ball Festival in NYC this year, not the reason I decided to go, but he is one of my favorite rappers bc of his old stuff.

College Dropout and Late Registration were bangers...two of the best rap albums in 2000's.

It's pretty sad i didn't even know he dropped a new album ten days ago. Not sure if it's the Kardashian curse or the fact he literally thinks he is a walking god but Yeezus blew and i have little desire to listen to his new album

New Kendrick is great Kendrick. I'm loving it so far. Kenny Duckworth never disappoints.

Yea its the goods, as always
