Offseason Rumors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Man, Uribe is just so done for me.

That would be a questionable move.
He bounced back nicely with Atlanta and was usable for the Mets. I can't imagine they want him to be a starter but to be insurance/platoon so they don't hand Urshela a job. I think he could offer more offensively than Aviles. I do like the idea of Morneau.

Brett Gardner's WAR, OPS, SB, and triples have all decreased over the past three seasons, while his strikeout numbers have increased.

Plus he's going to be 33 in August of next season and has inflated power numbers playing that joke of a ballpark in the Bronx (12 home runs at home vs. 4 on the road, even though he had more at bats on the road). I'll take a solid pass on him unless he comes extremely cheap.

Not only were his home/away splits terrible, but his 2nd half splits were as well.

Not just that, both sets of splits have gotten progressively worse over the past 3 seasons.

2013:
Away: .269 BA/.757 OPS
2nd half: .274/.757

2014:
Away: .244/.743
2nd half: .218/.703

2015:
Away: .236/.650
2nd half: .206/.592

I like Kevin Pillar. I've been trying to put together a trade for him but I'm not sure what his value is.

Cleveland Gets:
- Kevin Pillar
- Conner Greene

Toronto Gets:
- Cody Anderson
- Enosil Tejada

I'm not sure. I'm pretty bad with putting together fair MLB deals.

Indians have long been rumored to be a landing spot for Ozuna. If Crasnick's report is true, it might not cost all that much. Something Cody Anderson related?
Loria could be leaving a flaming bag of poop at Ozuna's door every morning, that doesn't reduce Ozunas trade value in and of itself. It will depend on what other teams are offering. I have a feeling another team would be willing to offer someone a little better than Cody Anderson, but we got to wait to see what the market bears out.

Indians reportedly interest in Tommy Hunter as a bullpen option.

Bauer is probably what they offer. Ive actually seen quite a few articles suggesting that. TBH, as much as I like him, Id rather have Ozuna + Anderson in the rotation, than just have Bauer. That being said, Anderson + a lower end prospect may be worth it as well.

We will see. I think the Tribe is looking to make a splash and will land more than just one big piece this offseason.

Gah I would hate that. I'm just not sold on Ozuna- he looks like a future lardo who won't be able to stay in CF. Plus I am just not impressed with his numbers- I guess I expect more from his skill set. I would be fine with parting with a Cody Anderson but I think the Marlins could do better. I'm also cautious to just dump Anderson when toy consider how inexperienced he still is as a pitcher and his power arm and durability- I think he is a guy who is one pitch away from being a stud. Not that I know he Will make that jump but I still see the potential.

Now watch Ozuna go and be Nelson Cruz Jr. If they can somehow get him for less than Bauer, that would be awesome. I'm just still leery of dealing durable power arms, no matter the issues, unless the return is a little mite guaranteed.

Fair points. Honestly im not to into baseball, especially this time of year. However, Browns are worse than usual, and the Buckeyes are pretty much out of it. It will be interesting to see how things progress as we get closer to the winter meetings. Right now, we have 6 guys that can start just about any day, and 1 or 2 guys that could fill in. It pretty much all comes down to how close they feel our prospects are.

Why not keep this pitching staff together, and say F**k a trade, and just go out and buy the pieces we need. No need to be cute, and try and fill in holes while giving up other pieces. We still need that RH hitter, and probably an upgrade over Almonte. Add in some OF depth (or improvements), and we are set.

Spend now, while the pitching is cheap!!!!!!!

If I'm the tribe I'm looking to dump off Anderson if at all possible. I do not see it with him at all. U don't think he has stud potential. Durability I will give you, but power arm? It honestly sounds like you were describing McCallister. I don't think Anderson's biggest fans would call him a power arm.

He is a fly ball pitcher. He has no pitch to put batters away. He got bailed out a lot last year by a very low BABIP (.237). His FIP was 4.27.

I see him as an innings eater, and not much else. If we can get a decent outfielder for him I do it without thinking twice. Anderson is by far our most expendable of the 6 starters IMO. And this is coming from someone who could probably be labeled as a Bauer hater
