The Ohio State recruiting class of 2011, which already appears to potentially be a top 10 group, could get an enormous ratings boost Thursday (June 3) around 12:00 noon.

Wayne (Ohio) quarterback Braxton Miller, considered the top prospect in the nation according to Scout.com , will either confirm what every Buckeye fan has hoped for and suspected for nearly two years and choose Ohio State, or he could break our hearts and select from his other finalists—among them, Alabama, Florida, and USC.

Unconfirmed reports are saying that a source close to Wayne head coach Jay Minton has indicated Miller will indeed announce that he has chosen the Buckeyes.

A few things working in favor of the Buckeyes

•Even though 2010 will be starter Greg McElroy's last at Alabama, Tuscaloosa is very far from home, plus Tide coach Nick Saban might bolt for another job at any time after swearing on your life that he's not going anywhere.

•If you have ever heard of Tim Tebow (or Chris Leak, or Jesse Palmer, or Danny Wuerffel...), then you know that Florida doesn't exactly develop or prepare quarterbacks for the next level very well.

•I think it's safe to say that USC can be eliminated, considering the NCAA is set to announce possible serious sanctions against the Trojans on Friday, the day after Braxton will make his announcement.

Also, Miller hasn't taken an official visit to any of his other suitors listed above, so perhaps that too bodes well for Ohio State.

They say to never count your chickens before they hatch, but what about your quarterbacks? Is it too soon to count Miller in?

Maybe, but it sure sounds like he will end up as a Buckeye, and from what we have been hearing ever since Ohio State told Braxton that they wanted him to be Terrelle Pryor's successor, he will confirm that he is going to be—and always was—a Buckeye

Ohio State is good at developing QBs?? One look at Pryor should scare off recruits.

But OSU is probably the smart choice for him, or Alabama, given that each team will need a new QB to step in soon.

Another great class for the Bucks.

Right, I mean if Ohio State couldn't take a scrambling QB and turn him into a passing QB in a spread scheme within two years of his eligibility....kids should simply stay away all together.

He's not the only one, what OSU QB has had great success in the league?

Troy Smith hasn't sniffed the field. Steve Bellasari? Joe Germaine? Bobby Hoyer or Hoyning or something like that? Justin Zwick? Craig Krenzel?

When is the last time OSU had a QB be a starter in the NFL? I can't think of one? Krenzel started some games right?

It wasn't a bash, it's a fact. OSU isn't known for QBs. So a Buckeye article knocking another school for getting a QB drafted higher than any OSU QB is the last what? 20 years? Have they ever had a first round NFL QB drafted? Is absurd.

So really, I don't know if you much to say other than what I said was 95% correct.

I'm not losing sleep because Ohio State hasn't produced an NFL QB. Who cares....

What I care about does the staff develop the player to fit our system and ultimately win games for us. If I'm not mistaken... they've done a pretty damn good job with that. Troy Smith is a great example.

Braxton is 100% Buckeye... he's been so for quite a while now.

I don't see any QBs from Alabama or Florida tearing it up either...FWIW.

Texas?

Dont change the topic...

I said OSU and Alabama would be the best fit for the kid. Tress has done a good job of making players fit his system and having success with it, but the article pointed out that OSU would be a good option because other schools have done a good job at preparing QBs for the NFL.

The Gators just had a QB go in the first round after one of the best collegiate careers ever, poor choice of words, that's all.

Im not familiar at all with Alabama, so I can't comment there.

Like I said, OSU is probably the best choice for them. Even though I can't stand OSU fans, I am still wondering when Tress is going to take the ropes off and let Pryor go wild on the NCAA and that is something this kid is going to have to take into consideration, how much will Tress limit his game? He is a micro manager that does not let things go wild, he wants it very controlled.

Pryor went to OSU because he wants to be a passer and OSU offered him best chance of developing into a better passer. If he went to Michigan with Rich Rod then he would be running spread offense and he wouldn't develop into a NFL QB.

Isn't Miller much more Troy Smith than Terrelle Pryor anyways??

No matter what college this kid goes to, he still has a very slim chance at being good in the NFL. Fast black quarterbacks almost never make it in the NFL unless there name is Randal Cunningham, Donovan McNabb or Vince Young. Most likely this kid is just going to have a descent college career and never amount to anything in the NFL due to the biasness of the coaches.

Miller is a more polished QB coming out of HS than Troy and Terrelle. Troy wasn't even recruited as a QB... he was an athlete who could scramble but couldn't pass for shit. Pryor had great scrambling ability but poor throwing mechanics.

Miller is far better coming out of HS.

So far it looks like OSU has a good recruiting class by getting Miller who is #16 best in county and a DE from Canton Mckinley who is #18 in country.
