Ohio State Top Target Braxton Miller Set To Announce College Choice

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Miller looks raw as a passer still but not anywhere near as raw as TP was. He looks like a great prospect. I had reservations about Pryor when he was getting all this hype but Miller looks like a more complete QB and that was Jr year highlights. Should be the best QB @ OSU since Troy Smith.

As far as the Pryor debate. He's got a long way to go as far as making consistent reads and becominga more consistent passer. If he shows he can get the ball out on time and complete a higher percentage of passes down the field from the dropback game he'll have a shot at being a high round draft pick.

OSU will 100% be top 3 . It's no secret. It's whether they will be top 2 or not.
Yea we'll easily be top 3.

Not to mention I don't see why it matters if we're top 3, Doug. I would hope we're #2.. If 3 teams finish undefeated, I don't want to be left out of the title game because of pre-season rankings.

People prefer to climb the rankings rather than be placed on a pedestal before a single down is played. I'm sure that's what he means. I guaranshee that if OSU goes undefeated with it's schedule, we WILL be in the national title game.

I don't know.. I would just rather start out near the top, we probably would make it, but there is still a chance. Being in the Big Ten also hurts us if there is some kind of 3 way tie with 1 loss teams as well.

Wisconsin, Iowa, etc are all quality opponents this year.

Plus we play Miami.

Ohio State also got a commit from a 4 star WR Evan Spencer today. This is definitely going to be one of the top recruiting classes.

Braxton was playing my Bulldogs in clip. Hopefully Steve Miller chooses OSU like Braxton. Steve Miller is the freak DE for McKinley.

But to address the previous argument, OSU was known for their defense and wide receivers, and running backs. Not one of the QBs listed was coveted or highly sought after. They were all average. TP is the only highly recruited QB that OSU has had in years, and the jury is still out on him. So the argument lacks validity because no one was expecting those other guys listed to develop into NFL QBs. I mean Troy Smith barely won a starting roll his junior season. No highly scouted QB battles for starting spots in their 3rd season.

Justin Zwick anyone?

I'm glad as hell we landed Miller, but I'm a little surprised he committed here, mostly because Tressel hasn't shown he can develop an elite QB yet. Of course, the book is still out on Pryor...

You mean, aside from that guy who won the Heisman trophy?

Ya, except for him ;)

Troy Smith had an unbelievable year, but it still hasn't translated into NFL success. I'm thrilled Miller is coming here, and I hope Pryor stays for his senior year, giving Braxton a year as a backup or even a season as a redshirt freshman, but we'll see what happens.

Either way though, Tressel does seem to keep bringing in some of the best QB prospects in the country, it'd just be great to see one of them reach their potential.

Troy smith would be excelent in the nfl if it weren't for his height and i dont think tressell can teach height.

Has Smith even been given a legit shot? I know he's played a couple times and looked solid every time he did (Or so I thought).

I dont think he has ever been given a real shot, he was going to get one by starting the last 3 games of the preseason 2 years ago to see how good he really is but then he got a really bad flu and lost like 20 pounds and Flacco just took the spot and started doing really well.

It's been rumored that OSU picked up a commit from Joel Hale, a DT with offers from Florida, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, Penn State, Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa State, Kentucky, Michigan State,Indiana, Purdue, Central Michigan, Cincinnati, and others.
