Sentencing is about to go down on any of the news channels for his Vegas fiasco. Kidnapping and Armed Robbery. I'll update once sentencing is handed down.

16 years. Has at the very least 6 years.

Reminds me of college when I skipped class to see the OJ verdict back in spring of '95 (I think). Sophomore year. Sweet memories.

*edit* it was October '95... can't believe that was already over 13 years ago

I was in Middle School and everyone cheered when someone found out between classes. Now I realize how friggen sick that was. :thumbdown

Whatever everyone's opinion on O.J. may or may not be (personally, I think he's a murderer); let's not turn this into a lynch O.J. thread. Pretty please.

With that said, dude is 61 and his offense will probably get him about 6-8 years of actual time served in prison. Outside of that, I really don't think he deserves 15 years to life for the crimes committed, considering the mitigating circumstances.

I was in high school during that time, and yeah it was pretty wild.. Everyone was cheering, everyone Black at least. All the White kids just sat there with astonishment (the verdict was announced over our P.A. system in 6th period).

I was one of the kids cheering. Thinking back, we all thought he was innocent, but more importantly we felt he was a symbol of racial injustice. I can't remember if the million man march was before or after his conviction, hmm... But in the context of Rodney King, and the L.A. riots (all interspersed during the 80's-90's), O.J. was either going to become a martyr that day, or be acquitted and become a symbol of progress.

Reality oftentimes plays tricks on a mofo tho.. Turns out the guy was probably guilty, and become a symbol of racial double-standards instead.. LOL! Hilarious when you think about it objectively.

Just to be clear, I didn't mean him being acquitted was part of the sweet memories, just the college years. :chuckles:

I thought he was guilty too and I'm happy he's finally behind bars. That whole trial and media circus was so bizarre, beginning with the "chase" we watched on live TV a few days after I graduated from high school. This whole thing is making me feel very old. :(

He is a dumbass

I hope he serves the full sentence. I hope the sick bastard gets raped a few times too. I hope he spends every day reflecting on just how wrong he was for nearly decapitating the mother of his children and an innocent young man. Have fun in hell Juice.

He won't get raped, he'll be a CIMS case for broad publicity. If he's not in some cushy resort prison he'll be in a cell by himself 23 hours a day. The other hour may be for rec in the dog cage.

No prison will let other inmates around him.

He got 9yrs minimum with a high of 33.

The case was horrifically overcharged but Simpson was stupid enough to allow himself to be set up.

I didnt believe the jury for a second when they said the murder case wasnt a factor with them.

OJ went to the middle school I teach at... we wanted to name the in-school detention room after him.

Thank goodness. The timing couldn't have been better. I am getting crushed in my Incarcerated Fantasy Football League (IFFL). Vick and Carruth have been carrying my team all season, but my backfield has really been keeping me back. Time to win this years championship on the shoulders of OJ!

Speaking of the original OJ trial, my first job in my bussiness, I worked at the desc next to Fred Goldman. He lives out here in cavecreek. He didnt work there long at all, but it was surreal for the short period he worked there. And no, I didnt ask about his son or anything.

Although me and my manager and some others did make some bad jokes after he left like. Now that I know who he is, it makes sense he ducked when I yelled pass me the oj, lol
