Don't forget JT's specialty is the QB. Don't let the titles fool you, JT is the OC/QB coach. Bollman and Daniels just help him out in those areas. How good is JT at molding QBs? Smith was recruited as an athlete, and was thought to be a WR or DB. He ended up as one of the most storied QBs at OSU, with three UM victories and a Heisman trophy to take home. Then coming into this year, the question was would Boekman be the starter? Now the questions is why isn't he getting more love for the Heisman? Jt is the man.
The answer to that last question is easy, btw. Boekman is the mvp of the team so far, and since OSU is #1 in the country he should get some heisman consideration. (The best player on the best team almost always does. Not saying OSU is the best team, but they're the best team so far at least.) Having said that, the media is hating the Big Ten right now, so that is one strike, and outside of efficiency Boekman doesn't have the stats the Heisman voters go gaga over, so that is two strikes. This is a case where OSU is so good that it's killing Boekman's chances. How many games has he even had 20 pass attempts, one or two? It's pretty hard to put up yardage when you're getting like 18 attempts a game. He's still getting his TDs though, hence the high efficiency rating, but he's not going to have gaudy stats with OSU blowing everyone out of the water.
