Patrick McCaw

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This guy totally sucks

He looked great as a rookie. In his rookie summer league games, McCaw averaged 15.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.0 steals over 33.8 minutes per game in Las Vegas. His second year he had a bad fall on his lower back and just wasn't the same. If he healed, he could be a cheap steal of a wing to come off the bench. Nobody knows because the Warriors wouldn't play ball with him when he wanted more than league minimum as a RFA. Cavs would have had the decency to trade him. Warriors were dicks.

someone post Tarence Kinsey’s summer league stats real quick

I've watched a lot of Cavaliers rebuilds. This is how it works. Young, low cost lottery ticket. His contract is structured to be included down the line for a team shedding salary. No shit he doesn't have great odds to become a difference maker. Not everyone has the stomach for this process.

It's a good bet to make for 3 million a year. If we trade Burks, Clarkson, and Hood at the deadline there is no guarantee that we would get wing players back. Nwaba, Cedi, and McCaw could hold down most if not all the SG/SF minutes for the rest of the season after the deadline.

I think it's similar to how we took on Dekker. Personally I think it's a better bet just because he has been behind so many good player. We don't have many of the low amount salaries on the roster at the moment so if McCaw doesn't work out, we probably can add him to a trade in the summer or at the deadline next year.

The Golden State Warriors are not likely to match the Cleveland Cavaliers’ offer sheet for shooting guard Patrick McCaw, according to a report from Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

The Cavs signed McCaw to a contract Friday, a deal that’s believed to be worth two years and $6 million. McCaw, 23, is a restricted free agent, meaning the Warriors had 48 hours to match the Cavs’ offer or lose McCaw for nothing.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, McCaw has made it clear he preferred to stay with the Cavs and not return to the Warriors.

He turned down a two-year offer from the Warriors in October, reportedly worth a little more than $5 million.

The 6-foot-7 McCaw has not played since last season, when he averaged 4.0 points per game.

Assuming the Warriors do not match the offer, as expected, McCaw will become part of a shooting guard/small forward rotation that includes Jordan Clarkson, Rodney Hood,Cedi Osman, David Nwaba and Alec Burks for the Cavs.

I'm hoping this is a sign that we have had talks about moving Clarkson, Burks, and Hood. Hopefully we have deals on the table.

I'd be pretty surprised if that wasn't the case. No reason to make the deal otherwise because there aren't enough minutes.

We know how it works. We were there for those too. We also are still here and can clearly stomach it. It’s a joke.

When you have a chance to sign a guy with 2 rings to help the young guys you do it.

Guy is bringing championship experience to the Cavs.

If you wonder why Golden State is struggling this year, its because they don't have McCaw playing yet.

#Winning.
I thin

He's worth a flyer . Rather give him minutes than Hood

I think that's the point.. Hood cant be useful on an 8 win team. He has not shown any reason we should not move on..

This is part of the rebuild process. You pick up underplayed guys on the cheap, and give them enough playing time to earn a second round pick in a trade..

It is interesting to me we are focused on guards though.. Seems like half our roster.. Sexton, Delly, Clarkson, Hood, Nwaba, Burks,Jr....Somebody gets traded out of that bunch...
