Patriots owner big fan of cheating

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Exactly, its not race or wealth, its because its not worth prosecuting. Its a class see misdemeanor, almost as rough as a speeding ticket.

Or...it's because there is some underlying issue with warrants, or with some of the things the cops may have done here. That's very possible. Otherwise, the bargain would have been an actual guilty plea in exchange for a minimal sentence. Not even pressing for a guilty plea is a red flag.

Also, I'm not really sure the NFL wants to set a precedent of a significant suspension just because someone went to a prostitute, which is really what this boils down to.

I think the other part is they know they don’t have the best case, and really do they really care if they win the case. If anything they got the point across by making this so public and embarrassing to those they caught. The public knows what these guys did now, no matter what the outcome. To me that is a bigger punishment then the courts will ever put on these guys.

What gives you any indication that these guys give a fuck about public opinion?

What makes it not worth prosecuting? I'm inclined to believe his wealth, and thus, power to buy great lawyers, would be part of that, no?

Not quite sure what Huber is getting at by bolding and raising the font of one clause, either. Am I to believe none of the other people getting off are rich and/or white?

His point that everyone is missing including you obviously is they are not prosecuting the Johns, none of them, not because they are white or rich, but because the whole sting is about sex trafficking not prosecuting a bunch of class c misdemeanors.

Why isn't it worth it? Because all it every leads to is a fine and community service. Any public embarrassment is far worse than the crime, get them to admit they could have been prosecuted and save money and time. People forget prosecuting 30 people for a minor, minor crime takes resources AWAY from finding and bringing to justice the people who are to blame for the sex trafficking, the actual crime they want to stop and punish.

The real punishment for this will come from the league, and a conviction or not guilty will not change that. The latest tactic of trying to suppress the evidence wont prevent the league for giving Kraft a 6 game 500k fine. That is my exact guess what is coming.

So you think Kraft is happy about this. You don't think he would have paid millions and do 100+ hours of community service to keep this private if that was an option?

Of Course he would have, he is embarrassed for sure.

I disagree here, the NFL will punish Kraft for sure. This is the same level as drugs for an owner in my opinion. Its coming.

I definitely don't think he is happy about this, but I chuckle at the notion that this being public is some sort of large punishment for him. That was the post I was quoting.

Trying to oversimplify this, but:

It matters because poorer people don't have the option to let one slide like this.

So if something happens again, and a judge sees another prior on their record, the punishment for such crimes could presumably be worse.

Treat everyone fairly. Don't pretend like his crime doesn't matter or isn't worth it.

Its a huge punishment, not sure why you chuckle. Much bigger than anything the law can give. First offense would not see jail time, and I think the max fines like 10k for him plus community service.

The biggest punishment the law can give is making it public. This is basically like a speeding ticket. Here in AZ, going 90 in a 65 is a more serious crime.

Where does it say that all of these men are rich?

Brings back to the point that prostitution should be legalized.

So should weed. But its not.

Thus, pay the piper if you're going to get caught doing some illegal shit.

Just as literally everyone in Cleveland said about that "thug" Josh Gordon.

The poor people were let go, its why the and others is so important. They aren't prosecuting any of them. Too much resources, this happens all the time, poor, rich, etc.

What is sad is getting a happy ending is not a poor person crime, while having some weed on you is. Both class c misdemeanor, but the weed is the one that gets prosecuted.

But poor people don't have $200 or so lying around for a rub and tug. Middle class does, but like I said, they are letting them all go,......very common.
