I hope we finally start to separate us a bit from Chicago/Washington and maybe even Toronto.

No surprise he's eventually got injured. Thibs has run him in to the ground.

I don't think we are separating from anyone over the next couple weeks... I just want to keep pace with both, and after that down the stretch we separate. Anything more than that would be extremely impressive with our upcoming schedule.

One way you can sort of tell that many of the Bulls injuries might be a sign of Thibs running them into the ground is that basically none of them besides DRose have been a result of traumatic injuries IIRC. Lots of guys being overworked there.

Chicago fans are an interesting bunch. I was reading their forums over on RealGM.

They discover Rose will be out, suddenly you got people saying, "we will be even better without Rose!" and now after this Butler news, you got them saying, "this isn't bad news, Derrick and Jimmy will be rested for the playoffs! WE'RE GONNA WIN THE EAST!!"

Did you see how Butler got injured? He got crushed by a screen. That has nothing to do with being overworked. Same thing with Taj. Everytime he has gone down this year is because he has rolled his ankle. How either of those two injuries can be put on Thibs is beyond me.

As far as silver lining here Thibs might have to play McDermott. Snell stepped up when he got a chance. I think the Bulls bigger problems are at the point guard position until Rose comes back. Aaron Brooks can only play against 2nd string PGs. He has no chance against starters. Hinrich might give you some defense but he can't give you anything on offense anymore. I mean look at this

Worst part is that Thibs insists on playing both of them at the same time. I was hoping the Bulls would go with the jumbo back court of Snell and Butler since Snell is quick enough to stay with PGs. But that option is out the window now. Injuries are a bitch.
