There's been a lot of discussion about what players would be best for the Cavs, and much discussion about the contract terms for each coveted player. I'm wondering what fans think about what's most critical about a prospective trade in addition to the actual player(s) the Cavs obtain (2008 championship, 2010 cap flexibility, etc.). Obviously, the level of the player and what people are willing to give up are closely related, but I'm curious about a snapshot.

My answer is: #2 go for the 2008 championship, even if it means some bargaining the future. But I'd be okay with #1. You never know what 2010 will look like.

I dont like Hickson very much, I think people are wrong about him. That is my opinion though. I just cannot see him guarding the likes of a Chris Bosh, Amare, Lamarchus Aldridge, David West, etc.. These are guys we will have to deal with in the future if he is here long term.

I actually think getting Brad Miller and John Salmons for Wally and Hikson is a good deal for us.

We will still have cap room in 2010 because Brad Miller expires. Salmons has a player option for 2010. Even if he stays his salary is only like 6 million. It's not like he will be 40 years old in 2010 and won't be able to contribute. He could be a very good back up to Lebron.

I feel a move is definitely in order. I also believe the Cavs saying they aren't looking to trade is lip service.

We need a solid 8-9 man rotation for the playoffs.

LBJ, Mo, Z, Andy, Wallace, West, Boobie. Wally gets lumped in as the 8th guy out of default. That isn't gonna cut it.

I don't want to watch us in the playoffs as Wally tries to guard Powe.

I think Joe Smith gets traded elsewhere.

2 things we need. a SG/SF that can knock down the open shot, and hit a high % from the line, and also play solid perimeter defense.

2nd thing is a big man that either has a low post game, or can spread the floor by knocking down a mid-range jumper.

I'm not a fan of Brad Miller, but he'd be a solid fit. Our offense wouldn't skip a beat since his skillset is similar to that of Z's.

I'm just not high on Salmons. In his career he's proven that he needs a lot of minutes to be productive. And where has this guy been? Reminds me too much of Mike James. Average player, that took advantage of a situation to get his numbers up. Yes, he's playing great this year, but I don't hear about too many players breaking out when they're almost 30.

Just trade wally for a talent upgrade that fits the team, maybe throw in pavs and a 2nd if need be. The cavs don't need a huge upgrade, but an extra proven weapon would be great for the playoffs
