If Danny Ferry was watching the same games as I have I doubt he's on the phone looking to shop Drew Gooden. Its clear that Marshall doesn't have the energy or footspeed to start and Anderson has months of rust to shake off.
We have little else on the roster that many teams covet and we would be willing to part with. So with all that in mind here are a couple of candidates to bring in for stop gap measures until Hughes gets back.
Fred Hoiberg - The "Mayor" was recently cleared to play ball after having an aneurysm in his aortic root surgically repaired. He surely will be out of shape, rusty and scared but even if he had his leg amputated the guy could still shoot and defend better then anybody we have on our roster.
Latrell Sprewell - Its easier to list what I have eaten the past week then it would be to list everything this knucklehead has done to destroy his career. That being said, if the veterans minimum would be enough to feed his family I'd take a shot. He is an upgrade in every way at the shooting guard spot.
Casey Jacobsen - Can shoot the 3 and defend slower 2's in the league. I'm not sure why he's not on an NBA roster. He's young and showed plenty of promise. Maybe he has signed and I missed it?
Rodney Buford - As a starter with the nets last year he averaged 12.5 points and 5 rebounds (17 games). Coming off the bench he scorched the Cavs a few times.
