the game 1 starters for the world series if things keep up could be cliff lee vs CC. UGH

that would be half the story of that game that the indians managed to trade the 2 ace starters of each of the world series teams. it sure would be nice of this team could keep one of their star players.. just once

Why sit here and beat ourselves up over two players who are gone? We've talked about it enough, there is nothing we can do about it.

The team is run terribly, thats all that can be and needs to be said.

Who was the possible World Series game 1 starter in 2007, when CC took the hill with a 3-1 series lead in the ALCS? I know, I also wonder what could have been, if the team could have had an usuable Cliff Lee in 2007, too. Oh well.

If you were to ask me right now, though, I see neither getting to the World Series. I like the Angels' staff over the Yanks- CC is the only pitcher better than his counterpart- and the Dodgers have a much better bullpen than the Phils, as evidenced by last night. I guess the difference is that CC and Lee are doing ther part to win in the playoffs, which can't be said of either of them when they wore Tribe unis in 05 and 07.

3 of the 4 teams left have former Indians. At least it will prove our exceptional skills of being the first MLB farm team.

Don't worry it wont happen. The combination of Manny Ramirez, Jim Thome, Casey Blake, and Ronnie Belliard will be too powerful against Cliff Lee.

And now the player we wanted to get for C.C is having surgery.:thumbdown

Pitchers IP H R ER BB SO HR PC-ST ERA
C Lee 8.0 3 0 0 0 10 0 114-76 0.00

Well, looks like we're halfway to that outcome, with both the Yankees and the Phillies already having won 2 games...

All I can say is good for those two if they make it, because they have definitely earned it.

As for the Indians, such is the woe of being a small-market team that actually lost a lot of money this year.

I never thought I'd root for the so-and-so Yankees for anything, but I am hoping they face the Phillies in the WS.

Yes, it hurts that the aces for the respective teams are Cle Cy Young winners. We seem to be the farm team for MLB, and that bothers me a lot. But I guess that's the reality of being a relatively small market.

I still watch the Indians, win or lose, because I love baseball. Baseball is one of the few constants in life. In some ways it's like a soundtrack for the convoluted paths we travel from youth to middle age to our golden years. For me, there was nothing like Herb Score calling an Indians game. Fortunately I recorded several Indians games off the radio the year he retired. I still listen to them from time to time.

When I was a teenager I used to walk to my grandmother's house, which was about 2-3 miles from my house. In the summer you could follow the progress of Indians games as you walked down the street, because everybody was outside in the yard and everybody had it on the radio.

I think the Game 1 starters in the world series will be Cliff Lee versus Lackey... :D
