Predicting the Cavs Rotations and Player Roles

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Going to be some major competition for the towel waving role.

Joe "Joey Hoops" Harris seems like a strong contender.

I feel a lot of people are making too big of a deal on Dion's position in the rotation.

First off, this is David Blatt coaching the team, not Mike Brown. Second, it may not matter in the long run if our team can pull off a great record.

I mean look at this:

12:00 left in first
PG: Kyrie Irving
SG: Dion Waiters
SF: LeBron James
PF: Kevin Love
C: Anderson Varejao

7:00 left in first
PG: Kyrie Irving
SG: Mike Miller
SF: LeBron James
PF: Kevin Love
C: Tristan Thompson/Brendan Haywood

12:00 left in second
PG: Dion Waiters
SG: Mike Miller
SF: James Jones
PF: Shawn Marion
C: Tristan Thompson

5:00 left in second
PG: Kyrie Irving
SG: Dion Waiters
SF: LeBron James
PF: Kevin Love
C: Anderson Varejao

It's a sample, but could apply heavily for this year. But you never know, I think we'll figure it out.

This little tid bit has me intrigued....

" The Cavs are quietly hopeful about Brendan Haywood. The veteran center played in some full court basketball this week at the training facility. It was the first time, as he continues to come back from major foot surgery that cost him the entire 2013-14 season. The 7-footer wants to play even as a backup. His shot-blocking skills could be a real asset."

If he has any run in those legs and his mind is right he is perfect for a do the dirty work under the boards type. He could easily carve out a place on this teams 2nd & 3rd units.

Side-note: swapping Delly for Dion for the purpose of defense is a step back if Dion is in the right mind state defensively as we are lead to believe. However swapping KI out for a breather with Mat would be the interesting because of how Delly & Dion play together defensively. Bully Ball with LBJ, Marion & AV could be just brutal with all those imposing of will types grinding away at opponents. I will be curious to see the +/_ stats for this lineup as I almost guarantee we will see it.

Could be extremely exciting.
