Back in Action.

Fun Facts.

  • As it has grown customary for the Cavaliers to bench their starters after the first half, the halftime score has consequently become more important than the final score this preseason. And despite having a revolving door of missing starters (LeBron James - 2 games missed, Delonte West - 6, Mo Williams - 3, Anderson Varejao - 3, Shaquille O'Neal - 1), the Cavaliers have outscored their opponents 289-272 in the first half through the first six preseason games.

  • Excluding high school hoops, the last men's basketball team to be considered the "home team" to lose in the Petersen Events Center was the Cleveland Cavaliers on October, 14th, 2008 in their preseason matchup versus the Boston Celtics (Pitt basketball team 19-0 at home last season).

  • I will be attending the game and am only two years removed from living right across the street from tonight's venue.

*For anyone that wants to add the starting lineups, injuries, and preview of the game, feel free to do so in this thread.

I will be at the game and likely providing a few updates via RCF mobile throughout the game (although one of my friends is going to be working the bar so I may be a little tipsy). Either way, expect a somewhat detailed writeup either after the game when I get back or the following morning.

Let's Go Cavs!

Any link to the game since it's televised on HDNET?

What's not so great about this is our last preseason games are back to back

Don't really want to put that kind of wear and tear on guys like Shaq/Z, etc. But at the same time we need to get a rotation developed and get some chemistry going with our main players (especially Delonte).

Brown is in a tough situation.

I dont think Mike Brown will be playing them at all, its just the preseason.

I have HDNet and I looked at the scheduling for tomorrow and the Cavs game is not on. I'm not sure if they are showing this game or not, anyone else have the same problem?

I show it on HDnet with Direct TV.

from the news-herald:

"No D-West?
It doesn't appear like Cavs G Delonte West will play in tonight's game against Dallas in Pittsburgh. Everyone has to be patient with this situation.

He might not play in the preseason. He hasn't logged one minute. Can anyone expect him not to play in the preseason and then play 25 minutes against Boston in the season opener?

If he isn't ready, does that mean Andre Barrett will beat out Coby Karl for the final roster spot? Right now, Karl has the edge, but that's assuming West is ready.

It has been anything but a smooth preseason for the Cavs. There have been injuries, a flu bug that tore through the team and the West situation is hanging over everyone's head."

I just looked everywhere on my DirecTV guide and don't see it anywhere. Not even the season pass channels where the Celtics/Knicks is on 4 stations (2 reg, 2 HD).

What station is HDnet for you?

It is the pre-season, but it has been mentioned that MB will be giving at least the starters more minutes these last 2 games to get a feel for the rotation and to get our main guys on the right page.

As for Delonte, I think his status is still in the air. We just have to wait and see.

As for the game stream, if it is being broadcast on HDnet (which u can find out from the cavs.com schedule) I'm sure there will be a link or 2 floating around in the game thread section closer to tip.

Besides getting a feel for rotations, it should also be pointed out that Mike Brown is probably required to show his good players to the fans in local regions. Since they are a part of the market in order to have more fans drawn in, Pittsburgh just happens to be a part of that. And they don't have a professional basketball team.

That's probably why Erie, PA hometown residents/locals are on here as Cavs fans. And Columbus too.

In fact, I can give a specific reason for this:

Back a couple years ago, the Cavs had a pre-season game in Rochester, NY and Brown decided to not play LeBron for rest related reasons. Well, the fans were pissed and the team was criticized in a potential market. It was a mistake and lost fans due to it. Now, that lesson is constantly applied here in present times. If the Cavs ever visit Rochester again, it will be most likely with LeBron in the starting lineup...

I have DirecTv. I found it on the HDNet Alternate channel. 306-1

edit: I recommend going to the DirecTV site and setting it to record from the guide.

Thanks.

I sure hope I get it tonight. I think last time a game was scheduled on this channel, I still didn't get it for some reason...

Yeah I was searching around on it and found some information that said it was for Dallas subscribers only. Guess I'll schedule it and cross my fingers.
