what was he thinking with 34 seconds left,he tried to throw a long 50 yard pass to hartline, when he had a perfect hole to run the ball and he threw an INT :(

i am crying right now, damnit pryor

young quarterbacks make mistakes...

he did everything right upto the point where he decided to take the qb sneak outside and he paid for it. he is the reason we lost the game but I'm not going to be down on him at all. He made a mistake - yes it cost us the game - but hopefully he learns from it.

i completely disagree about him tucking and running it at that point. throwing into triple coverage was bad but the game was on the line and it was a risk he had to take. a 5 yard run would've done nothing for us at that point and the clock wouldve just kept running

i'm sticking with pryor for the long haul. he'll take this loss hard, as he should, and it will make him a better quarterback

The guy is a true freshman QB. Less than a year ago he was playing against HS kids, cut the guy a break.

He played pretty well outside of the fumble, that last play you can blame the craptastic block attempt from Wells and the RT. No excuse for an OL to give up that kind of pressure when they are dropping seven back. He could have made a better read or throw the ball away still, but how does that guy get through?

Overall, good game to watch. ND game was a snoozer so I watched this one mostly. Pryor didn't play bad at all, but why not more rushing attempts? Tress is way too conservative to be a coach at OSU with the kind of talent that roster has.

no dude he could of got a first down at least, and the clock stops differntly in NCAA football and we could of won the game, but this just cost us B-C-S ,wow so dissapoining pryor, where are the bucks going to end up now:confused:

Yea im not down on Pryor at all, This is his first real mistake in his early college career and hopefully he learns from it.

I have to disagree. Pryor did make two critical errors late, but I think the game still could have been salvaged. The true culprit here, despite playing an overall good game, is the defense. Consider this sequence of events:

- Starting quarterback Daryll Clark gets hurt, PSU misses FG.

- Pryor turns the ball over in his own territory, but Clark doesn't take the field. Instead second year man Pat Devlin sees his first significant college time, on a grand national scale mind you.

- Playing overly conservative for the fear that Devlin may shit his pants, PSU doesn't attempt a pass during this series. Instead, they run the ball seven times for 38 yards (one 15 yard penalty) and a touchdown. Despite not even attempting a single pass, OSU cannot stop PSU from scoring.

- OSU receives the ball with terrible field position, gets a first down, then has to punt after 3 more plays.

- PSU takes the field at their own 37. It's painfully obvious that with a 4 point lead and the clock winding down, they will continue their strategy of protecting Devlin and pound the ball. However, OSU still surrenders 45 yards (one 15 yard penalty) on 7 carries. Also, they give up a field goal to go down seven.

- To recap, with a three point lead, the OSU defense allowed the PSU offense, led by a 2nd year back up QB, to gain 83 yards on 14 rushes and score 10 points on two possessions. Not once did they even challenge PSU to throw the ball, much like PSU did to them earlier in the game, ironically. I just don't see how you fail to play the run in such a situation. Additionally, the 30 yards in penalties was another huge defensive let-down.

that bullshit face mask was a killer

and it's hard to get mad at our defense, i mean they played great pretty much the whole game. just after the turnover they had great field position, got a call and smashed it in. the offensive line is who im mad at, beanie should be bitch slapping them all as we speak

oh yea!

tressel took a timeout 2 & 1 with 3:50 on the clock:confused: very Romeo Crennelesque

That drowning kid reminded me of Joe Andruzzi, get off the field.

Good win for the old man, maybe he will retire and there is no way in hell he could see anything from way up in that press box.

Ok seriously, a true freshman quarterback that led us over Wisky couldn't mount a comeback against Penn State with the o-line/running game struggling...let's just cut this guy geeze....

Come on people.

Ya know what I loved - that Pryor went to the bench and put his head in his hands. He didn't freak out, he didn't point any fingers, and he didn't just sit there and laugh on the sidelines like it was nothing. Derek Anderson and Troy Smith could learn a thing or two from this kid. He cares about winning, he wants to learn from Tressel, he wants to get better - this university is in great hands as long as he's here.

Jim Tressel trying to beat another top ranked team via the FG. Ho hum. Pryor will take the heat for the fumble that turned the tides, but he wouldn't have been in that position if Tressel could call a game like a legit 21st century coordinator.

How many big games does he have to lose before he swallows his pride and hires a real offensive mind? We're up to 4 straight, but who is counting?
