Indians acquired RHP Yohan Pino from the Twins to complete the Carl Pavano trade.
Pavano was added to the Twins on August 7, in case you lost track. Pino, a 25-year-old right-hander, is 7-3 with a 3.03 ERA in 40 appearances (12 starts) between Single-A and Triple-A. He projects as a solid middle reliever.

Looks pretty decent.

Thanks for the info.

His numbers look OK on the surface. Give Shap a little credit - he definately seems to have replenished the voids we had in pitching in the minors.

I hope he continues this trend in the offseason. Wedge should be fired in early October if the rumors I hear on the radio are true. New manager - new personnel - hungry young kids. Maybe next year will not be a bust after all.

Well, the fans have to realize that next year is a work in progress..

Not only will we have a lot of young guys, but we will more than likely have a rookie manager as well..

I like that Shap is loading up our system with relievers. He's clearly learned his lesson and is erring on the side of caution.

I think the system is pretty well stocked at the corner positions and with relievers. I'd assume there's plenty of outfielders as well. What I'd like to see next is Shap starting to load up on starting pitcher talent. You can never have too much starting pitching.

Hot sauce in my bag, hot sauce in my bag....

I think he's gone a bit overboard on relievers, but what do I know. Yes, we have some studs at key positions, but once Santana, Weglarz, Brantley, Chisenhall etc get called up, we'll need to replenish our farm again. If we only could draft well....

However, our pitching depth/talent is really really good right now. Carrasco has been phenomenal since hes been here.

Not possible to do.

Signed,

The 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2009 Indians......

The bullpen has been pretty damn awesome since the Lee trade.

Anybody know how hard the guy can throw? No more of this upper 80's to lower 90's crap. I want another hard thrower in the pen.

I mean speed isnt everything but it would be nice to have a few hard throwers out there.

Considering they project him as a middle relief pitcher, and the fact that we traded Carl Pavano for him, I doubt he is a flame thrower.

Shapiro has done a complete 180 with his pitching prospects. He tried the soft-tossing lefties, the location freaks, and it failed. So he said screw it, let's get as many flame throwers as possible and see what happens. I like it.
