Question about the Ipod?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So my wife bought me one of those ipod things that I really didn't want. She has one and wanted me to have one. I'm perfectly content with a $10 mp3 player, but she'll be insulted if I take it back.
That said, she has an itune account that shes bought a kabillion songs off of....can I load them on mine? Do I have to get my own itunes account and start paying for a shitload of songs?

Advice? What the hell do I do with this gizmo? Thanks.

1. Put the USB cord in the computer and plug in the iPod.
2. Drag the music from the music library to your iPod in her iTunes.
3. Enjoy.

iPods have more space than Zunes, have a long ass battery life with each charge (not including nano), and have a better design physically than the Zune.

Zune has radio but if you actually want that (I don't listen to the radio when I can pick what song I want), and allows for music sharing, but I know two people with Zunes, so that'd be pointless. That's why I prefer iPods, just an opinion, not some neo-Macscist trying to make claims about the glory of Steve Jobs and his wonderful creations.

Oh, oh, oh....another question. Her laptop is dying and I want to get her a new one. She's worried about it because her itunes are loaded on there.

How does she transfer them to the new computer? Does she need to transfer them....or can she just log on to her itunes account at the new computer and download her library? Not sure I'm wording her concern correctly...

Go to Best Buy or some place and ask if you can get it onto the new laptop automatically, or call Apple and see what to do. If you can't find any info, saving the songs onto a flash drive should be enough to transfer them.

That can be kinda tricky, there are various way to do so. I'm not an itune expert at all, don't have it. but I would assume, the easiest would be probably get a flash drive. Microcenter has 4gb flash drive's for $6 I believe.

Hook up the flash drive to the computer with the itunes stuff, transfer the songs and such to the flash drive, then hook up the flash drive to the new computer and copy them onto the new computer. Repeat process if unable to fit all songs onto the flash drive.

My laptop just took a shit the other day. The pin, or plug inside the laptop that gets hooked up to the ac adapter broke off inside my laptop. Took the entire laptop apart, rigged the pin/needle so I can power up one last time and transfer all my important stuff onto a flash drive and then onto my desktop. Well, I put my laptop back together, power it up. Great success! Not, my keyboard doesn't work. Long story short, in my process of taking my laptop apart, I broke the ribbon conecting my motherboard and keyboard together. So I ended up scraping my laptop. will be getting a new one soon

As for retrieving my information from the broken laptop, I removed my 2.5" hard drive from the laptop. Bought a hard drive converter/enclosure, that I can hook up my laptop hard drive into this enclosure, then connect it to my desktop via usb.

So in short, there are many ways to retrieve your data, as long as the hard drive isn't shot.
