what would you do? work in construction and make $5000 after taxes. OR move to Poland, have $4000 zl a month free + any job I want. I would have a car in the US and I wouldn't in Poland

I kinda want my kids to grow up in the US

Do you have kids at present?

I aint moving to fucking Poland that’s for sure

Are you Polish/have any family or friends in Poland or is that just a random place you've picked on a map?

I would take it slow and process my thoughts before making a big decision like that.

What are your values? Money, travel, or fulfilling employment?

What happened to your current job?

I no has job, i think fulfilling employment is, but construction wouldnt be it lol

That being the case I would not make decisions about children until you actually have them.

Until then, make the decision that gives you the best opportunity to succeed.

If you have, or can obtain, dual US/Polish citizenship, that is ideal.

Moreover, if you have good Polish language skills, it is something that is valuable.

So I guess... what is the best short term opportunity, and what is the best long-term?

Do you have access to earning a degree in the future?

What is any job you can have in Poland? Would it be leverage-able for something later in the US?

For example, having construction experience, with bilingual language skills, coupled with a degree, perhaps with a focus on Project Management, could make you a very well-off man. Construction Project Managers make a lot of money.

Around here they make between $150K-$250K.

If you can get a job with a company in Poland that does a lot of work with English speaking companies or wants to, you might end up being someone that is real valuable to them. If your Polish is good enough to communicate well with them but your English is superior to anyone they have, it will be an advantage for you. Clients will want a native English speaker to communicate with.

If it's a sales job, it just might end up with them sending you back to the US down the road to do sales for them here. I had a friend working in China and he was from here, the company he was working with hired him exactly to do that. The Chinese government made it hard to keep Americans so he couldn't get his visa renewed and they hadn't gotten their client base enough in America to just send him back to do the same work. His company did try hard to keep him but they couldn't do anything to get his visa renewal pushed through.

How do you have it setup where you’re getting “any job you want” if you go to Poland?

Feel like guys are making some jokes here. I’m not into that, especially when it has to do with Polish people and gay guys.

Let’s get back on topic.

I knew a Polish guy named Jan who moved from America back home looking for a job. He also said he could get any job he wanted, because he saw listings for them on boards all over the cities when he’d visit. He just hadn’t called yet because he didn’t need one.

I suggested, like you guys, that he call ahead before committing. Well before one of his trips back home, he had a friend give him one of the listings so he could call ahead. He said the friend seemed a little confused at first. He figured maybe he was underqualified or something, but didn’t ask too many questions.

Well, finally Jan heads back to Poland and he gets dressed up for his interview. Black Armani suit, black leather belt hair, hair slicked back, brown monk strap shoes. Ready to go.

He called me right after the interview.

“Oi. Bad news. I blew it.”

What do you mean, I said?

“Well first off, when I went to shake the guys hand and asked if he was there about the job, he nodded and stuck his dick in my hand.”

Nothing screams "I've never met a Polish person in my life" more than calling your example "Jan." Come over, have a pierogi sometime.

You ruined the immersion before the story even got going.

1/10, would not see this movie again.

Also, I'm 50% Polish, so I get to make those jokes. But, I keep my jokes to only half of the situation. Notice how I talk only about the man bottoming, but not the man topping? Have to respect my heritage.

Also... the more gay jokes we can make about the current state of Poland, the better. They need some help.

Seems like you took that pretty hard.

Also, highly Polish area. Have a festival and everything.
