Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Love Louis CK, but I need more material from him. I'm concerned his time in the spotlight is gonna be up soon. I love his takes on kids and the dude is fearless to the level of David Cross.

Love Patton Oswalt but he sounds like such an idiot when he dabbles in politics. He's liberal and his opinions are just retarded and based in no sense of reality. When he's not getting into that, his creativity is unmatched. His "Uncle Touchy's Naked Puzzle Basement" song towards the end of the ruined Halloween bit is one of the funniest things I've ever heard. Almost as funny are his impressions of Tom Carvel, the Carvel cookie cake guy and Bob Ross' "nemesis" William Alexander.

Giraldo I'm eh on. He was very funny for sure, but he just doesn't hit with me like the more creative guys do.

David Cross: Also extremely creative and will say ANYTHING. Dude is fearless. He'll throw out the word "niggers" like it's nothing, follow it up with an abortion joke and then finish with a 9/11 joke and not a single person will be offended. His politics irk me, but at least they're more well thought out than Patton's.

Stanhope is very meh for me. He's too dark for me which is saying something. His lifestyle and presentation are just too chaotic for me. Sometimes I also feel like he's trying too hard even though he is obviously naturally filter-less and very nuts.

George Carlin is/was/probably always will be my favorite. Absolute genius. Not much more to say. If you disagree with something George Carlin said, then you probably disagree with me.

Kyle Kinane is pretty good and I like his approach. The "dadgum Toby Keith Bar and Grill for starters" bit is fantastic.

I like John Mulaney. He's not real original, but he's got some funny takes.

Hannibal Burress is pretty strong. Not sure how to describe his style. Just one of those guys that comes up with takes on ordinary things that I'd never think of.

Aziz Ansari is very funny.

Jim Gaffigan: I like when he works a little blue actually. Very creative with fantastic imitations of obscure made-up characters such as a whale, a lobster and dead fish.

Dave Attell: What the hell is he doing that I haven't heard stand-up from him in forever? Really creative and can be dark at times, but with a funny twist.

Doug Benson: I'm not sure why I like him so much. I don't find pot-head humor that funny and a lot of his jokes are about weed. He's just very goofy and off the wall which I dig.

Same goes for Eugene Mirman. Very off the wall and goofy and extremely creative. Annoyingly liberal but he pulls it off because he focuses on absurd insults rather than actually having real political opinions.

My over-rated list:
Anthony Jeselnik- sort of a darker version of the monotone Wright/Hedberg non sequiturs. He's funny, but he doesn't deserve a show.
Nick Swardson- unless you're a drunk college kid, I don't see how he's anything other than about average
Daniel Tosh- Hilarious on the show. Hilarious on twitter. Stand-up is good, but not as good as it's made out to be. Doesn't really bring anything different or original.

I HATE JEFF DUNHAM. WHY DO PEOPLE THINK HE'S FUNNY?

Excuse any typos, on my phone

I think we are in agreement on most of these.

- I think Louis will continue to have strong material till he calls it quits, but I think his 15 minutes are almost up. He will always be the comedian to inspired me to finally give it a try.

- My views are damn liberal, but Oswalt gets too whiney when he does politics. As long as he stays away from politics, he kills.

- I urge you to try more Giraldo. His album "crossing a river" is just damn near perfection. Such a bright dude, went to Harvard fucking law and decided to tell jokes instead. Saw him at the funny bone like 4 days before he dies.....tragic.

- I honestly love Stanhope more from a comedians perspective than actually being in love with his jokes. His live DVD from Oslo on Netflix is still one of my face. What an honest dickhead.

- Aziz is very hit and miss with me, but the guy is good. Very unique and clever. His kanye bit is gold.

- I liked Kinane before, but my man crush grew after hanging out with him and talking comedy after a show. I admire how he can beat a premise to death and milk every bit of funny out of it, without wearing the premise out.

- Gaffigan is one of those guys who is good, but I can't get into it. Don't know why.

- saw At tell 2 months ago.....still fucking has it. Hes not the most versatile ( midget whore beer dick joke!?), but hes a killer performer.

Overrated? Agree on your list. To add: Kevin Hart is a terrible writer. Dane Cook is a one trick pony. Amy Schumer has one schtick. All the blue collar comedy shit is terrible (Ron white is the most talented of the bunch Nicky, but not something I can enjoy). Jeff Ross isn't good outside of roasts. Nick Dipalo is so unlikeable. I actually like Bill Burr a lot, but I think him just talking (radio, podcasts) is better than his standup. Jeff Dunham should be doing tours of grade schools. Gabriel Iglesias is dreadful. Joe rogan is OKAY. Lewis Black is better in small doses.

Nick Swardson reminds me of every douche frat boy who show up to open mics on campus and do booze/poop/dick jokes........dreadful.

Definitely agree about Anthony Jeselnik and Nick Swardson. How does A) Jeselnik have his own show and B) Adam Sandler put Swardson in every one of his movies?

Lets see your stand up pr26. We won't judge you.

I've seen it and it's excellent. Dude moves fast though...for a chub.

Also...schumer is a one trick pony like Mario Cantone, Natasha Leggero and Lisa Lampanelli. Natasha is a cutie though.

I fewl the need to throw Bill Hicks in again though. The thing I liked about him is that I don't even really laugh at him as much as just being riveted by his pessimistic, genius takes on the world. Man was his death tragic. I feel like he could have still been funny even if he'd have somehow improved his outlook on people and not gotten cancer. He was so brilliant and not really appreciated until the very end of his life. He's still not my favorite laugh out loud comedian, but he was one of the most explosive and fascinating for sure.

Always thought Robert Schimmel was underrated. RIP
I'm biased because I met him through a friend before he passed. Funniest guy I've ever been around.
Jigo, skip to the 5:20 mark when he's talking about pets and dogs, you may enjoy it...or not. He's raunchy as hell and pretty entertaining later on in this routine. His parents were at this event while he's discussing cumming on his wife's tits and anal. :chuckles:

Yes, Schimmel was awesome. Totally forgot about him.

Just watched Boyz n the Hood. Very interesting movie, I'm pretty amazed that it was written and directed by a first timer. Acting was really good all around too. Thematically it's just as relevant today as it was back then. I'd give it a solid 8.5-9/10.

Doing so would put my real name on the board, which I'm not interested in since I'm not David Knauf. I've sent my shit to a couple a people on here that I trust for some reason via PM. since Quad lives close and we never met I'm gonna badger him into seeing me at the funny bone this fall during the contest.

Maybe I need a stage name..............DAVID KNAUF!

Fair enough. I'd love to see it, but I wouldn't want my real name out there either. Especially around these freaks.

^He is funny, I've seen his stuff.

Back to movies- I would like to have a duality with a great movie and a great soundtrack. Also, I'd like to know what all of your favorite comedies are.

I am Sam has a great soundtrack. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas has a GREAT soundtrack. Apocalypse Now has an excellent soundtrack. Forrest Gump obviously had one of the better soundtracks I can think of. I am a fan of The Doors, so The Doors soundtrack is one of my faves and an interesting movie.

My two favorite soundtracks are totally bizarre ones in Clockwork Orange and The Shining. The Shining's soundtrack is barely music. Moreso...sound effects. Clockwork Orange is a bunch of synthesized Beethoven tracks which sound incredibly cool.

Sidenote: his movies are asinine, but Adam Sandler's soundtracks are always top of the line.

"Lars and the Real Girl" -- Still trying to process this, because it wasn't what I thought. I had no idea that Ryan Gosling was in this. I'm used to him playing the bad ass in a movie. This was a nice change up for him. I don't think it's a movie that I would recommend though. I don't know what it is. I don't dislike it, but I think overall it was very sad.

Ive thought, a few times, of how well taking the collective stories of RCF and putting them into an act would fare.

If we did a 'best of' thread in which we rehashed the winning stories weve told from the past 5 years, would you take them live and record it?

no. lars and the real girl is an abomination. I loved it in highschool and when i watched it again a couple months ago I nearly lost it when he introduced the puppet as his chick. I turned that shit off when he started singing Tiny Tim.

Ryan Gosling has looooots of personality.. The start of his career was way different than this. People forget about the notebook etc... Hes a charming dude but has definitely typecasted himself as of the last 3 years into something entirely different.

Just curious, but is there a stand up comedy thread? I would make one if necessary seperate from this because I have been watching a TON of stand up and roasts lately. It fascinates me.
