My main problem with it is that I feel like Suicide Squad should be a lot more lighthearted than the trailer is making it out to be. It should be DC's Guardians of the Galaxy, but it looks like there's just no sense of humor at all despite the ridiculousness of the whole comic's premise. But this is DC, so no jokes allowed. God forbid one of their movies shouldn't take itself morbidly serious.

I also don't really see how you can take anything away from Leto's Joker, given that he only has two lines and about eight seconds of screen time in the entire trailer. I still think he looks stupid, though. I know the teeth are consistent with what happens to him in the comics (I believe it was Batgirl who knocked his teeth out), but they just look really dumb on camera.

By the way, if you guys want to check out a solid animated Suicide Squad movie, check out Batman: Assault on Arkham. It's really short for a feature film, but a lot of fun.

Leto looked impressive enough to me in his short appearance and he certainly has the resume to back it up. It's a pretty safe bet that he will do a good job all things considered. I saw the assault on Arkham film; I think Harley quin's banter with the squad will provide some good light hearted moments, pretty similar to that film.

Trailer shows lots of Harley; who I love, and I also love Margot Robbie playing the part - I think she's perfect.

We'll see how far they go with the violence though; as DC released a pretty good Suicide Squad animated movie not too long ago.

Still not on board with Leto @gourimoko ?

He looks absurd in the part.

It seems like they're going to go with this Joker as the Joker who kills Jason Todd; hence the Robin outfit in the last Batman v Superman trailer. And that's cool, they might even do the almost-rape and crippling of Batgirl.. Who knows..

I'm fine with an insane murderous Joker; I just don't like the direction they went with Leto and his character design. Leto would've been fine as an actor to play the role, but why have him be so "damaged?"

You still have time to hitch yourself to the bandwagon.

Lol... I'm not the stubborn type.

If Leto does an admirable job, then I'll congratulate him the same way I did with Heath Ledger. Same goes for Ben Affleck.

I just.. have my doubts.

I actually expect Smith and Robbie to steal the show; apparently they have some real life chemistry.

Suicide Squad's recent interpretations have been exceptionally violent and sexual.

I don't think the mood/tone of Guardians of the Galaxy would be a good fit.

I wish they had gotten the Rock to play Killer Croc. Not that the guy they got (don't feel like typing out his full name) is bad, but Dwayne Johnson is just such a massive guy that he would have looked more the part. In the photos I've seen Croc doesn't really stand out as being significantly bigger than anyone else (except for his comically massive head), which he should. I love in the Arkham games how he's just like this eight foot fucking monster.

Perhaps Guardians wasn't the best comparison, but for example the aforementioned animated film is both exceptionally violent (especially for a cartoon) but still very lighthearted and comical. Based on the trailer, it seems like they've taken much of the violence but siphoned out all the humor, which is consistent with DC's other films. It's just a bit of a shame if the trailers are indicative of the final film, as Suicide Squad shouldn't take itself quite so damn serious.

I don't know how the Rock has enough time to take a piss these days. That guy has to have more on his plate than anybody in Hollywood. He is already playing Black Adam, so this might have something to do with it, but yeah; I could see the Rock as Killer Croc just on his physical presence alone.

Oh yeah...totally forgot he's playing Black Adam. With all the Croc makeup, though, it probably wouldn't even matter. But yeah, I just thought he'd be perfect because he's just absolutely massive, but at the same time he can act too.

That's a rough couple of days bro.. My sympathy.

BTW.. American Sniper would've been great, I just wish Eastwood hadn't tried to whitewash the protagonist. I mean, we literally learn very little about Chris Kyle from the film; you'd think he was someone completely different than the guy that actually existed.

Could've just named him Kyle Christiansen or whatever and then it wouldn't have been a problem.

In the next 5 days I have Inside Out, Ant-Man and Trainwreck lined up.

Most excited about Ant Man, although it's gotten the "worst" reviews of the 3 (still above average).

Yeah, I'm going to go see Ant Man...

Watched Let Us Prey (horror) the other night.. Not too bad.. 6/10.

I knew Taken and Last Knights were gonna be garbage going in. I had high hopes for Kingsman and American Sniper though, and neither impressed me terribly. As I scored them, I enjoyed American Sniper the most. I have not read the book, nor do I know an exceptional amount about Chris Kyle. He sounds like he was kind of unhinged but from some of the controversies I saw, criticism of him is a little bit overstated by sensitive people IMO. Those weren't my issues with the film. I was unimpressed with the acting, although the war scenes were done well. I thought I was in for this great performance from Cooper but I could only say he really stood out in maybe one scene? If that? His wife was obnoxious, some terrible dialogue, and the film felt like it was all over the place in terms of direction and tone. Almost like it was having a seizure. One moment he was shooting guys in Iraq and the next moment we have a bizarre scene in an auto shop where Cooper grunts a couple of times at a veteran that wants to thank him for saving his life.

Just a weird film at times, not at all what I was expecting, but not a bad film either. Certainly overrated.

The other three aren't worth even touching on.

You should do some research on the guy.. He was fucking crazy and he personally claimed to be a straight up mass-murderer. Under no interpretation of reality would anyone consider him a decent man... I don't even think he thought he was a decent man.

To me, he's the perfect guy to make a movie about, but not the movie that American Sniper was...

Granted I watched Kingsman on a plane, but I actually enjoyed it. Nothing special, but it was entertaining throughout and had some pretty good action scenes. Dumb fun would be a good way to describe it, and the cast was great (Sam Jackson's lisp is amazing).

As far as Taken 3 goes, I thought it was better than the second one, mostly because the second was just the same movie as the first but in a different place (see also: Hangover 2). At least the third did something a little different. Neither sequel was really all that good, though.
