Don't worry, mankind will have destroyed ourselves and/or the Earth long before we decide to pony up the money to explore the universe.

I think that might be the single biggest fantasy about The Martian; NASA would never get funded to send people to Mars.

Well, that innovation is building an artificial brain with an artificial mind. They also recently just linked two people's brains, so that they could share very simple thoughts, over the internet.

So, the different fields of technology do serve a larger purpose.

I read the book so everything is spoiled already unless Ridley Scott added actual martians. I'm not gonna see it until Monday- please tell me they didn't give Watney a love interest like how they had to go and give Hugh Glass an Indian wife and son?

But I kind of assumed that would happen unless the writer was a complete dick (he does enough dickish things to Watney during the story lol).

The Walk: 7.3777/10.

Entertaining movie with a decent plot that moves along. The cast does well enough. Things really don't pick up until they are on the WTC.

Be sure to see this in either 3D or IMAX. Preferably both. If you have a fear of heights this film will make you cross your legs a couple times.
