i have to admit i did not expect this movie to absolutely kill it. haven't gotten around to seeing it myself yet, but critics are swooning over it and everyone i've talked to raved about it as well.Saw the LEGO movie. Loved it, saw it with my 3 year old daughter who also liked it. Very funny, decent story and smashes through the 4th wall to round out the story and leave it making a comment on the way toys are seen by different generations
pratt is quietly on track to be the next megastar.
yeah i watched it earlier. not into comics at all so i had no idea what the hell was going on. it has a damn tree and raccoon!Make sure you check the guardians of the galaxy trailer then
he's the lead in the new jurassic park movie too.Pratt is everywhere now. Zero Dark Thirty was quickly followed up with Her, Lego and Guardians of the Galaxy. I like him but it gets tiring seeing Hollywood take something good and overuse it til you are annoyed.
Finally saw Boogie Nights recently. Very good out of rating scale.

Finally saw Dallas Buyers Club. I would give it maybe an 8-10. The movie was good and I was very entertained.
I thought McConaughey was good, but I don't think his performance was Academy Award winning worthy. He definitely deserves to be nominated just from an overall changing of appearance and dedication to the role stand point, but I don't think there was anything special about his performance. I wasn't sucked into or awed by his performance. It wasn't an overly emotional one, and it wasn't something that I thought was a really deep character. I believe his performance in True Detective is a lot deeper and more real. It really sucks you in to the character. This is just my personal opinion.
I do believe that Jared Leto's performance is being overlooked. He was absolutely incredible, and his role was unique and very deep. He didn't have a ton of screen time overall, but he played his role perfectly and stole every scene he was in. He more than deserves his nomination, and after seeing almost all of the nominee movies, exception being 12 years a slave, I feel he is right near the top, if not my choice for best supporting Actor. Loved his role and performance in the movie.
I haven't seen the movie yet, but I would say Jared Leto getting nominated means he's not getting overlooked for his performance.
