I guess this artcle comes done to whether or not you think this is real journalism, info leaked by an agent, info leaked by the front office, or made up BS. Jason usually reports the administration's party line. Suprising to see it come from that direction unless the team was not interest in keeping Scott.

I think that the messenger in this case is just as important as the message. This is definitely not the kind of article Lloyd typically publishes. It seems like the kind of article that Finnan has wanted to publish for weeks (according to his blog, which has been extremely critical of Scott). But coming from Lloyd? Either it has some legs or Lloyd is exploring some new avenues in covering the Cavs. Either way, quite interesting.

This is just an general observation, but I read a lot of fan forums and I can say that, generally, fans hate their coaches rotations. That's just a standard complaint when the team loses. Blame rotations. It's so standard I barely give it weight anymore.

See, the complaints about rotations, many times, are impossible to please. For instance, in one breath someone will say "Coach X should ride the hot hand." But, if that hot hand happens to be a bench player, and then that bench player suddenly becomes cold, the fan will say "Coach X should have brought the starters back in sooner." It almost comes down to expecting the coach to be a fortune teller. If players play well, then the rotations were correct. If they play poorly, the coach should have taken them all out, unless those guys also play poorly, in which case the coach should have been able to see that coming and left the other guys in.

.

I've heard numerous coaches bemoan that this is a player's league. Coaches are always the fall guys. It's easy to place blame on a coach, it's harder for the management to accept responsibility for how things played out under their watch. And you can't just get rid of 15 guys at once. When change needs to happen, the coach is the first to go.

This article pisses me off because fans/media want change for change's sake. Unless there's a top tier coach waiting in the wings, this is absurd. Remember, year 2 of the developmental rebuild, (minus the injuries) we're about where we want to be.

I give Lloyd a lot of credit for writing this. Byron is extremely liked by the media.

True to an extent, but when you give up a 27 point lead without calling a single timeout or pulling some of the guys who are causing that onslaught, the something is wrong. Like I said earlier, why was Zeller benched for a majority of the 4th? He finally faced someone softer than him and he was abusing him. He landed in foul trouble and then it's like Byron forgot about him. Ride the hot hand, especially when your star players are hurt.

Scott has steered the tank well. No need to criticize a coach who is getting the results fans want. Now when fratello was taking crap team into the play offs for first round exits that was a problem.

Does anyone have any idea what player or players are complaining? My guess Is Miles, Casspi, Or even Zeller, Maybe the guy who stuck up for Scott was either Spieghts, Or maybe even Injured AV or possibly Tristan. I wonder where Dion and Kyrie sit on this Issue. This does not sound good however and makes me think If he returns what FA or star could we get who might share Scotts Odd style?

I would hazard a guess the guy who stuck up for Scott was Livingston, Elllington, or Walton, as it referred to as someone who had been around the league. I would guess the complainer(s) to be Gibson, Casspi, Speights, or Miles.

So now its 3 players, are you sure? A couple posts back it was just one. How did you assign "blame"? Did you just pick free agents or was there a method to your madness?

Actually the comments are Gibson's imo. Given his playing time, his previous coach, the fact he wanted to be traded, and now the fact he won't be back.

The additional players were added based on your comment. The two players were the guys that haven't won a thing but have played with their fair share of teams.

so at first it was 1 player, then it was 3, now you are back to 1, but a different 1 than the first time.
