Report: Moeller suffered head injury
By Adam Rittenberg
ESPN.com

Ohio State junior linebacker Tyler Moeller remains hospitalized Sunday with an undisclosed injury while his Buckeyes teammates reported for the start of preseason camp.

A spokesman at the Ohio State University Medical Center listed Moeller in fair condition Sunday afternoon. Buckeyes team spokeswoman Shelly Poe said Moeller is expected to join the team in the next day or two.

WCMH-TV in Columbus reported that Moeller sustained a head injury several weeks ago and was hospitalized for tests.

Moeller is a projected starter at outside linebacker for the Buckeyes after starting the final two regular-season games last fall. He recorded 18 tackles (3 for loss) in 2008.

"I just hope for a speedy recovery for him," defensive tackle Todd Denlinger told ESPN.com. "I know we'll see him here soon."

ESPN affiliate Web site Bucknuts.com is reporting that starting wide receiver Ray Small and reserve defensive end Rob Rose also didn't report with the team Sunday. Both players reportedly are dealing with academic issues that prevent them from participating in team activities.

Okay, so this article I posted is really for Tyler Moeller and his head injury and I wish him well, hope he has a speedy recovery, but the main reason I posted it was because of Ray Small.

Again, we are seeing him not participating with the team. How many chances does this kid think he is going to get?

He already caused problems in 2007 and 2008 and was on Tressel's bad side, and here we are again.

I love what he does on the field, and I think he could be a good player this year if he would get his head on straight. He is just such a fuck up, I don't think it is possible.

Looks like Small, Rose, and Moeller could all be out for the year

Terrible news on Moeller. One good thing about OSU is that even if he never takes another snap, he'll be well treated by the OSU community. Hope he recovers fully.

OSU is very deep at LB, at Jermale Hines is very similar to Moeller, so from a depth standpoint, his production can be replaced.

Hines plays the star position....not the same.

Rolle, Sabino, Sweat, Bell, Klein could have a chance for some playing time

That is a a horriblely written article. All speculation and I'm sure that person has no inside sources. Why right a piece like that if you have no facts at all.

They can call him a "star" or a nickleback or whatever. The fact is he is very similar, physically and athletically, and if they wanted to, they could have Hines start doing what they had Moeller doing. Hines has seen enough PT his 1st 2 years that I think he'd be able to pick everything up rather quickly.

Hines will continue playing star with Rolle probably stepping in for now.

Well, I am not really concerned how they do it. LB is probably the deepest position on the team (that or DE), and Fickell is probably the best position coach they have. The LB corp will be fine.
