The 2002 Ohio State team is one of the first where my emotions hung on every moment. Really got me into my love of sports. This was shocking news to wake up to.

Unbelievably tragic. All over a fender bender. RIP

Damn, can't believe i'm waking up to this. One of my best friends was on the 2002 team, so I've met Will and his wife many times. Will was a good dude. He was in the process of trying to be an FBI agent. To say this was senseless is an understatement. A great guy is dead, his wife is in the hospital, the shooter will never see the outside of a prison again. Why??? Over a fender bender????!!!

Sounds like this incident could perhaps have been pre-meditated. The shooter sued the New Orleans police department in 2005 after his father was shot and killed during an incident. The cop who was involved, and retired from the N.O. police force in 2013, was having dinner with Will Smith and Pierre Thomas last night.

I was reading that and the shooter was chasing down Will Smith and the car in front of him. There is allot more to come of this, but it might not be simple road rage, could end up being something far more bizarre. The shooter's dad had a history of mental illness, who knows if the shooter himself was mental ill or paranoid.

He shot Smith 8 times in the back. We haven't heard a peep from the 2 immediate witnesses in Smith's vehicle. I'm not seeing how he can claim self defense unless others point out that Smith had a gun in his hand when shot.

For those who have not kept up, apparently the shooter was following Smith because Smith's vehicle had allegedly bumped the shooter's Hummer then drove off. There was a gun recovered from Smith's vehicle. But seeing as the shooter emptied his clip into Smith's back he has to prove that he was the one who felt threatened by Smith's butt- and that Smith himself was t reaching for something to defend himself after the shooter pulled his weapon first.
