Do we have anyone here who plays RockBand?

Other than some of the music being subjective, The game is a blast and super fun in groups or at parties. For anyone interested, I just read that Thursday's Lounge in Akron now has RockBand nights with a 7' screen, lights and full audio. It sounds pretty fun and my friends and I will probably be going down there some night to check it out.

Pip and I are in a rockband. Although we are currently in a transition phase...we are also currently working on some bangin bluegrass numbers.

Never played "Rockband", I'll have to check it out....it might be good training.

I dont play the games, but do you know what kind of time commitment you have to make to learn an instrument? Plus the cost as well. The average person doesn't have the ability and these fill the needs.

If that was the case, why do we play sport games? Why play Madden? Go outside and play football. Why play Live? Go play real basketball..

No..video games are extension of allowing people to play out things they normally can not do. This was a great concept and they are cashing in.

I have been a singer my whole life. I have done everything from touring rock bands to singing the National Anthem for Browns games. I am also a seasoned guitarist and classical trained at Piano.

I play these games because not only does it teach my son all about different types of music but it is also a fun way to interact with friends.

Flaming peoples posts because of their personal interests is about as cool as rooting for the choke artist Patriots in a Cleveland sports forum.

Talk about fvcking lame.

Sadly, Ive been at partys where such things happen such as a "Guitar Hero Tournament Game" keep in mind this is a college atmosphere and been in earshot of a "omg I heard this song on Guitar Hero." I also know people who somewhat brag about there "skills" on games like these as if they were on par with Jim Morrison or Joe Walsh, which is lame to me, it would be like playing NBA Live and dropping 50 points with a player in there and talking as though you could do it in real life. I guess with your skills you use it as entertainment....but sadly, I know people who dont.

Patriots didnt choke, they had the go ahead touchdown, Rodney Harrison and Ellis Hobbs choked on defense because they couldnt catch a cold....which is something I said was going to happen in numerous pre-game threads.
