Round 1 Game 4 | Cavs @ Pacers | April 22, 2018 | 8:30 EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Nance brings JR in on a bunt in the bottom of the fourth period. Book it

I was dead wrong in my Pacers blowout prediction in game 3. The actual result was far worse. We're three games in, and we've yet to see any of the new guys do, well, anything.

There's no bunker mentality with this group. Feels like a "go through the motions" type of game.

That is really bad news.

We've been such a better team with Hill on the floor in this series.

Can we just take care of our fucking business for the first time in the playoffs?

Line is now Cle -2 the betting keeps on coming in on Cleveland as it has moved 3 points from +1 to -2 since late last night.

(1) Calderon starting isn't the end of the world, however, Hill has been pretty good when he's been on the court, so that's a loss. Hopefully Jose ensures the Cavs don't stall out their offense and play "prevent". They need to pick up the pace. They cannot continue to cross half-court with 17 seconds on the shot clock... Especially for an entire half. Up until this point, Collison has been pretty quiet; Cavs do not want to get him going from three.

(2) Can LeBron sustain aggression into the paint? When he gets there, it's close to an auto-bucket. He's done it for a few quarters this series, but has gone into Iso-stall, jump-shot settle mode for long periods of time. Perhaps since no one else is stepping up, that's the best chance the Cavs have to win, however... I want to see LeBron off the ball making plays for more than three or four possessions. Him in the post is good, but other players need to make cuts when he gets into this position. It'll open up the spot-up three point shooters. No one is really cutting when he's posting up.

(3) Kevin Love can fill it up. We've all seen the first half of the last game. He was making smart cuts, hit a few post shots, hit a few threes, bank-shot from the wing... general Kevin Love things. It's been said ad-nauseam, but he needs to be involved. I know he's going to be more turnover prone on his catches (due to the thumb), but Kev has to find a way to not turn it over there. That "prevent" style play of the 2nd half is still getting to me...

(4) The two self-shot creators on the team aside from LeBron, Jordan Clarkson and Rodney Hood, have to do something. Right now, it's not working. I would want to see Clarkson off the ball with Calderon, but with Hill out, that will be more difficult. Maybe LeBron can play some backup point guard (from a positional standpoint, for all intents and purposes he is the point guard on offense).

(5) Cedi Osman. If Tristan Thompson is suddenly going to play, can this guy get some run, please? Even if he's not scoring, he's bringing more to the table in terms of defense, energy, running the court, switching ability, rebounding, boxing-out, than several current rotation players. However, the offense has been a problem. I believe Osman can do better there too than some of these other guys, simply by moving around.

This is Ty Lue's last chance. He fucks up tonight, I'm going to dedicate my life to calling into Bruce Drennan's show and anybody else who will give me a forum to shit talk this guy.

Late money is being bet on Cleveland. Late last night the spread was Ind -1 and as of now it is Cle -1.

Reminds me of the 2009 Orlando series when everyone assumed Cleveland would win game 4 at Orlando the late money came in on Cleveland and the Cavs were the favorite after Orlando won game 3. We all know how that turned out. GRAB THE REBOUND WEST DAMN YOU. Still have nightmares that West couldn't just grab that rebound in the final seconds of regulation that lead to the Lewis 3 before LeBron hit 2 FT's to send it to OT but had West grabbed the rebound up 1 with a few seconds left.
And now it’s moved to Cle -2

It’s a joke Calderon is starting....I’ve stated it in two ther threads but it bares repeating.

There is zero reason our starting 5 shouldn’t be:

LeBron - Collison
Cedi - Oladipo
JR - Bogey
Love - Thad
Nance - Turner

This way Calderon can sub in midway through first to spell LeBron as PG.

It’s MUCH easier to get Thompson minutes behind a starting Nance.

This organization just continues to piss into the wind...
