*rumor* Cavaliers' Damon Jones to Heat for Michael Doleac and Jason Kapono

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This trade is clearly never going to happen. Heat get back a guy that was key to their success, and we get back two guys we didn't want. Those Miami writers are spending too much time at the beach.

Yeah I agree. Kapono is worse than Luke and Doleac is not better than Hendu. This is the "unload crap players on the Cavs trade." It's funny how non-Cleveland writers predict that the our team will always take crap (NY probably thinks they can trade Penny for LeBron).

This would not be an ideal trade, but we get rid of a bad contract, and receive two players who would at least know their role. Right now it makes little sense with Hughes injured, Snow would have a huge burden on his shoulders. In saying that it is tough to knock back a veteran center and good shooting swingmen.

Damon was big in yet another win and some people still want to trade him for junk. Don't you realize this "rumor" was nothing more than a miami writer wishing they could have damon back?

Im wishing we could trade Jones for something productive everyday.

then you're not paying attention - Damon has been productive lately - at more than just scoring too. Yesterday he played 33 minutes, Snow played 15. Yet somehow we held the TWolves to 38.8% shooting. If Davis is as awful defensively as people seem to think, shouldn't they have lit him up? Ricky Davis was 6-12 with Snow on him, 6-17 otherwise. Hassell was 3-9, Carter was 0-4, McCants was 0-3. Just where are these players that were lighting up Damon?

Against the bucks, Lebron and Damon were on Ford and Redd - the assignments went back and forth, they finished for a combined 11-32. He also had an outstanding assist in that game - one of his 4 that night.

Against the Nets, Damon had a solid stretch guarding Kidd.

Against the Hawks, he had two huge steals.

Damon has gotten out of that hired gun mode and is playing complete basketball as our backup 2 guard.

Jones is playing with more energy and better defense. He is still missing the three often, looks like he has no arc on the ball. I think he and Marshall show signs of shooting tired (no arc, short rim etc) Perhaps it has taken them a while to get used to the defensive effort.

penny will not be traded for Lebron. the cavs would have send a another player or three to ny so the salaries would match.

Jones isn't doing anything worth his contract. He is over paid and is wasting a spot on this roster when we can trade him for somebody productive.

He was brought in to shoot and he has not done that. He is a terrible PG, weak ball handler and he can not create. His defense is below average, despite what anybody says....mostly just you and coach Brown....he is nothing near a good defender. Ricky Davis has nothing to do with this, Jones wasnt guarding him.

Until Jones finds a shot, he is worthless. He has shown this year that he is nothing more than a tenth, eleventh man. But we gave him a fat contract so we have to play him til he finds his shot...me? Just time to cut our losses and get what we can for him.

Who was damon guarding? I threw out all of the possibilities, none of them did any damage. Neither did Kidd when Damon was on him in the nets game. His contract is peanuts and he's contributed to several wins this year.

Jones has contributed to several wins but that has at least be levelled by his inept play in losses. Just becuase a player might have an off shooting night does not mean he was well defended. Thats just staring at a boxscore and taking a guess. If that was the case it means who ever guards Luke Jackson, Damon Jones and Donyell Marshall are elite defenders keeping them to such percentages.

Jones is not worth a multi year deal. The $'s is not my problem, just the fact we are stuck with an undersized shooting guard who struggles to shoot for 3 1/2 more years.

My main problem with Jones is that he isn't a PG. Neither is Snow. They are both SGs (regardless of their effectiveness at it, that's what they are).

And we need a PG to back up, or better yet replace, our current PG: Lebron.

God to see Michael Doleac in a Cleveland Cavs thread. I never want to see this guy in a Cavs uni again. Still bitter about Paxsons brilliant trade for this bumb for Brendan Haywood. And Kapono, I would still rather have Jones on this team..

The Cavs NEVER had Haywood on their roster. I swear I explain this every year...

Haywood was ORLANDOs pick from the start. This was documented in ESPN's My Life: Draft Night. It was late in the first round when the show got the news that the Magic had acquired the Cavaliers pick for Doleac and the guy on the show was excited because he thought the Magic were going to take him.

So, never at any point in time, was Haywood part of the Cavs plan. He was an after thought.

Whatever dude, I still dont want this guy anywhere near this team. Maybe next year you can explain it again.
