i always thought that because russell is such a attention seeking player he automatically sucks in defenses towards him, giving durant ample space to do his thing. a bit of the monta/curry GS run-gun-fun stuff i love, but that's just me.

This definitely isn't it. People have no problem with Derrick Rose, or even a Mr. Kyrie Irving.

I think that the difference is that Rose and Kyrie don't play on teams with another established volume scorer. Though Westbrook plays with Durant, his playing style is not the distributor. He is a scorer first and foremost and playing alongside one of the top scorers in the NBA won't change what he is good at. The fact that he is so aggressive is what makes the Thunder so dangerous because they have 2 scorers who can carry the team on any given night. Durant is my favorite player in the NBA, but having Russell around definitely takes some weight off his shoulders.

Still, Westbrook is a great player and no, he wont be OKC's downfall like some of you are saying.
