Ryan Hollins waived

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Welp, the starting introductions are now going to suck. All the starters won't have anyone to jump into before the game. Good Job Grant!

Walton can easily fill that role. He already was brought in to replace Hollins' end of the bench towel waving.

Chris Grant reads this forum.

This came out of the left field, but I'm thankful for it. No need to waste roster spots for stiffs.

No Grant got tired of seeing that lump on coach's forehead..that migraine was growing bigger and bigger..BOUT TIME!!!!

See Wuck Sans trade deadline the mere mention of Hollins in your Avatar worked.

So.. A above average defender, 41 percent career 3pt shooter to go along with 40 percent from the field, isn't worth keeping around in the NBA anymore.. Interesting.

Gibson has some health issues, this is the biggest concern with Gibson... Not his overall performance. Not interested in hearing about the height issue, either. Just because he's undersized doesn't mean he isn't worth keeping on an NBA roster and getting extended minutes. ANY championship contender would love to have a clutch, knock down shooter on their roster with good defense.

Waive Gibson.. Pshh, you'd succeed better doing standup my friend.

I would not say waive. I think Boobie is clearly NBA material, hell if Wally could fleece teams as long as he did, someone who can actually hit an open 3 can. But I remember thinking to myself he is the worst finisher I have ever seen. I looked up and they actually kept track. Sure enough he was worst in the league (I think last year).

WHAT? Is he really released? Is not some joke? Oh my GOD, this is one the happiest days of my lifeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jamison next please and i can die happy!

Jamison next please and i can die happy!

Looks like you won't die happy.. unless you count his contract expiring at the end of the season as "being released" :chuckles:

Did Hollins' representative also offer to forget about the money the Cavs owed him for the rest of the season?

It still smells to me like something else was going on here.

Rumors saying Celtics might pick him up.

I'm thinking he wasn't happy because the Cavs were unwilling to have a Ryan Hollins night and give out pencil mustaches to the crowd.

They must not have liked the Cavs' offer of handing out plush vaginas for Ryan Hollins night.

Ryan, we'll never forget you for your one good game against the Heat.

So, can someone take a stab at it? Do the Cavs have an eye out for someone on the waiver wire/D-League. Other than getting rid of a stiff, I'm not sure why this move came right now.

Anyone know if the NBA uses NFL-style waiver wire rules, i.e. teams with the worst record have first dibs?

This might be a good idea (but might not be.)

Fine with "Granting it". I see what they did there.
