I highly doubt they make the playoffs this year. What is the year we can get the pick if they just come close (get the 10th best record in their conference ) I am really hoping we could (wishful thinking, get the pick by 2013) and have 3 first rounders that year. Package 1 of the picks to move up and grab two very solid starters for the future. That is a huge part of the rebuild.
Aint going to lie, I really had to smile when I read the King´ fans comments on JJ Hickson on RealGM

Kings' Jimmer Fredette scored 21 points in NBA preseason debut. J.J. Hickson scored 2 in 32 minutes (on 1-7 shooting).
- Geoff Petrie"This morning, in one of the most heartbreaking moments of my professional or personal life, Chuck Hayes was notified that he failed his physical exam with the Sacramento Kings. Subsequent to that, the contract signed on December 9th has been voided. At Chuck’s request, we will have no further comment at this time."
Hayes was a signing that actually made sense (although payed overs). Doesn't need the ball like the other 14 players on their roster.
They now may make a bid to bring Dalembert back.
Probably not front page, but the kings used a line up with Evans, Fredette, and Isiah Thomas for two extended stretches against golden state last night. What was interesting is that it was pretty effective. While Jimmers stat line is better, it appears Thomas had more key moments in the game. Also JJ had a 9 and 19 night.
I watched a good portion of this game, and they made a point of getting JJ the ball because Cousins was playing terribly. We'll see how long that dynamic will last.
I don't know about that. The West is going to be much worse this year, cumulatively, than the East methinks. Let's have a look at last year's standings and this year's prognosis:
1) San Antonio: will be worse, no question, what with them another year older and a .744 win clip being totally unrealistic.
2) LA Lakers: again, a year older, probably doesn't win as many games.
3) Dallas: yet again, a year older, but still a deep and savvy team.
4) OKC: probably #1 in the West this year, a big improvement.
5) Denver: not making the playoffs this year.
6) Portland: probably not making this playoffs this year.
7) New Orleans: if CP3 bolts, not making the playoffs this year.
8) Memphis: finishes higher than 8th.
As for last year's lottery pickers, there's a lot to be discussed. But based on my rough estimates of this year's Western playoff lineup, it seems like 2 or 3 teams who picked in the lottery will reach the promised land. Will that be Sacto? Probably not, but it's not out of the question, either.
Here is the West Teams that I think that WILL make the Playoffs:
Not in any certain order:
1. Thunder
2. Grizzlies
3. Clippers
4. Lakers
5. Mavs
6. Kings
7. Nuggets
8. Jazz
