Sean Williams

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Williams and VC for Wally and Sasha or whoever.....thats the most likely trade for our "final" pieces. Yes I can see that Williams is a good shot blocker.....but hows his one on one defense in the post. Can he shutdown a KG or Rasheed or Gasol if we needed him too. He looks a little skinny but his athletiscm is nice.

thats why we would still have Andy and Big ben untill williams improves

Actually this fits the mystery deal that W&G was talking about. The only thing is we get rid of AV in that scenario. A Sasha for VC and Williams would be oh to sweet for us and way to one sided IMO.

We would probably have to add AV instead of Pavs, but i was actually just reading an article about the Nets and it says they might want to keep Carter. It says they want a good core together when Bron is a free agent and so far VC is playing well. So we will see.......

He is shooting like 47% from the field and 38-39% from 3. AV/Wally/1st would be what they would want if they considered trading him to us.......

I'm actually more on the side of taking a shot at VC as i think he could give you 18-20ppg at a decent shooting percentage for the next 2-3 seasons. Before i was so so on the idea because of his health but he has played in no less than 73 games since the 02-03 season and no less than 76-77 games since the 03-04 season. If Ferry would have got him for Wally straight up that would have been a huge steal.

LeBron isn't a FA for two seasons, VC wants to retire soon, and there is a very slim chance New Jersey will get LeBron anyway, seems like a pot of crap to me.

Not attacking you of course, just the info.

I would love to bring VC here next to LeBron and while him and Z get their rings on the way to retirement, Cleveland becomes the happiest place on Earth. Based on the fact that I want it to happen probably means there is no way in hell.

Vince Carter is not long term

I think he can perform at his current level for this year and next. The year after that he would slide onto the bench and be a reserve. He is not a long term guy like Williams would be but he is long enough to win us a ring or two.

I wonder if Ferry will revisit the Vince Carter idea around the deadline. If we only offered Wally like reported than you gotta figure something like AV/Wally/1st has to work for VC/Williams. It was said that the Wally proprosal was actually considered at the time.......

^^ It would also be so much easier to make a deal like that if we could land Mcdyess, because it might not hurt as much to replace AV with Mcdyess/Williams.....

In a article.....it says the Nets declined a Wally/Andy for VC trade

Don't think Andy was included in that rumored draft-day deal.

Edit: I see the hoopshype article you're referring to, but the salaries don't match. AV + Wally for VC alone doesn't work. I remember during the draft that it was rumored to be Wally (and possibly the first rd pick of that year) for VC, which does match-up. Plus the article that states it was AV and Wally for VC is far from an unbiased source:

As for Carter - whose one-on-one, fourth-quarter duel with unearthly Joe Johnson almost negated the frustration of getting trapped in 10:30 p.m. Lincoln Tunnel gridlock - it's easy to see why management rejected the Cavaliers' offseason offer of Anderson Varejao and Wally Szczerbiak. A licensed hit man, Wince is even more lethal now that he has a contract killer partner in Harris.

Way to stroke yourself off NY Post writers

P.S. Did he intentionally refer to Vince as Wince or is it just subliminal at this point?

Dont want Vince. Not enough balls to go around. If we asked him to come in and be a 3rd ball handler on the team he just wouldnt be that good.

I dont really care about peoples contracts if they good. Id be great with Gerald Wallace, but no that Vince is a selfish player, its just that there wouldnt be enough shots to go around.

Even after a full year in the NBA, Sean Williams has a harder time understanding basic team defense than JJ Hickson does as a rookie, while managing to be twice as raw on offensive and he lacks the heart and muscle that JJ brings to the team. A big "no" to Sean Williams. Even if the Cavs got him for free, I'm not sure he'd be worth the roster spot because he's so uncoachable and prone to off court trouble. Sean is the classic "underachieving, athletic NBA knucklehead" that Ferry wants to avoid.

hes a complete headcase.

i remember last year at the rookie/sophmore game. hes sitting on the bench and boobie sinks a 3 right infront of him and he sticks his leg out, tripping booby while hes running back.

i dont like his attutude. and neither do the nets and thats the reason hes not playing.

ferry wont go for headcases.

That's the first thing that came to mind when I saw this thread. He acted like an immature you know what that entire game. Hopefully he has matured a little bit which I doubt. Love his skill set but I got a bad impression of him from All Star weekend.
