Seattle Seahawks @ Cleveland Browns (1:00PM - CBS)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You might as well wipe your ass with that 20. The Browns aren't going to beat anyone by 10 this season. We may win again, but they are going to be close. We don't have the offense to get the kind of lead.

Agreed - the only way this team blows anyone out will be due to the fact there was a KR/PR TD or a pick six to help pad a lead.

Nate Ulrich's (@ABJ_Browns) twitter has a nice transcript of Holmgren's presser. Sheds a TON of light on the Hillis situation - and whether you believe it or not, leaves a nice amount of comfort with the way the team is looking. Finally someone spoke up.

If we go 7-2 behind Seneca or Thad Lewis I will donate 3 grand to RCF.

Oh god no, I wasn't saying we should make a change now... I meant this offseason. My point was that, even with the same cast of characters, a well performing QB can make all the difference. Some Colt supporters don't seem to think it's true.

For the record I want Colt to have the rest of the season to either prove me right or make me eat my words.

Re-cap:

--Browns have signed rookie RB Armond Smith to practice squad. He was waived on Tuesday. Club released RB Xavier Ormon from practice squad.
--Browns LB Scott Fujita has been sent home for 2nd straight day with symptoms from concussion.
--Pat Shurmur says CB Joe Haden (knee) is day to day. RB Peyton Hillis (hamstring) will run in pool today. No one ruled out yet.
--Said "negotiations" with Peyton Hillis continues. Said "there was no way" Browns would trade "one of our best players." He spoke with Hillis yesterday and told him team would try to keep him.
--Mike Holmgren: "I am all in" with Cleveland.
--On McCoy: "He's still a pup. He's played well ... and he's played young."
--On rebuilding Browns: "I'm optimistic but it takes some time."
--On committing future to McCoy: "Let's see how he plays."
--Contract talks Hillis have quieted down. Sides have decided to "let Peyton play."
--Holmgren on Shurmur: "A solid guy. I believe in him."
--Expects Browns to hire an offensive coordinator next season. Will be evaluated at end of season.
--Says business of Browns, "given the lockout and all is OK." Believes as team grows and wins, things will improve.
--Does not expect any TV blackouts this season.
--Not opposed to changing QBs every year "until you find the man. You have to find that person."
--He would be willing to stay beyond his 5-year contract. "I believe with all my heart we are headed in the right direction."
--Joe Haden doesn't know if he'll be able to play Sunday. Did some light running, walked without a limp after practice.

I'll bet you 20 bucks we win, and win by at least 10.

Deal. You agree to donate $10 to the site if the Browns win by 9 or less. I agree to donate $10 to the site if the Browns win by ten or more.

jigo, you do realize that when someone says they'll bet you $20, it doesn't mean each bettor has $10 at stake, right?

It was great hearing Mike Holmgren today. I happened to be running Mom around town and caught the presser on the radio. Really good stuff. He was sincere IMO. He truly does not know if McCoy is the guy but will give him this entire year to find that out.

What was very revealing is that he was totally honest about Shurmur and the fact he shouldn't be handling the offensive coordinator job as well, and will hire one this coming off season. What I got from his statement was "play calling is sub-par so far." LOL

Great presser. The fans needed to hear from him.

Yea thought also he said we will hire an OC but Shurmur will most likely still call the plays next year.

:chuckles:

I have no idea how this happened. I'm well aware of how a $20 bet works as I've won several of them betting against the Browns.

We'll "up" it to $20 Triple.

And fuck you Max.

No wonder your customers love you.

Jigo: "It costs $5,000, sir."
Customer: "I'll give you $4000"
Jigo: "DEAL! $2000 it is!"

Haden pick 6 and Cribbs TD return and we have a shot :p
