Why does what they look like mean anything? And most members of Anonymous are adults, many of whom are security analysts, IT networking specialists, or programmers like myself and several other members of the board like KIMVP and McOhio (IIRC).

Just because someone is technically savvy and simultaneously politically/ideologically inclined doesn't mean that they chill in their mom's basement. And quite frankly, who gives a fuck where they live.

I was crushed when I found that out. I've been watching my tv on fastpasstv.ms and tv-links.eu. I'll have to check out dailyflix for movies though.

Due process? Probable Cause? Screw that. Some US legislators are intent on being able to monitor all of your online activity, lurking in your internets like pedobear at a playground. The bill H.R. 3523, or Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA), appears to be the next brewing threat to internet privacy and freedom.


Accord to the EFF, the bill contains “sweeping language [that] would give companies and the government new powers to monitor and censor communications for copyright infringement. It could also be a powerful weapon to use against whistleblower websites like WikiLeaks.”


As long as “cyber security” is cited as a cause for violating your rights, the bill would apparently give a green light to governments and companies who wish to spy on user activity. ISPs, search engines and social networks would be able to make your data available to government agencies, leaving you with virtually no privacy.

The Republicans, Democrats, and their hybrid king Barack are not going to stop. The free flow of information on the internet is one of the last obstacles to their goal of absolute state power. The media knows better than to cover the story this time, so people will have to spread the word.

I kind of agree with the acts. It's crazy to think the internet isn't policed. There are many many holes that make white collar crimes easy on the web.

CISPA is up for another vote tomorrow in the House. Obama has already threatened to veto if it passes. Rep. Mike Rogers has called opponents of the bill "basement-dwelling fourteen-year-olds."

For those that aren't up to speed on it, CISPA stands for Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act. It would allow the government and various technology and manufacturing companies to share information about internet traffic, and the stated purpose of the bill is to help the government investigate and prevent cyber attacks against various networks and entities. It was originally introduced by Mike Rogers in 2011, was passed in the House in 2012, but was filibustered in the Senate that same year. Critics argue that it allows the government too much free reign to view a person's private browsing information in the name of cyber security. Groups such as Microsoft and Facebook, who once supported the legislation, have since reversed their stance. Critics also state that it is a clear and blatant violation of Fourth Amendment rights.
