Brady's numbers aren't much better at home this year, hell his numbers in general for this year sucked. The obvious lack of talent and missing Gronk explained that. Brady throughout his career, when he's on top of his game can go anywhere, play in any weather condition, and still drop a monster game on the field. Anyone that seriously thinks Manning is better, just watch the game this year when both had to play in freezing conditions, when it was windy. Manning had a 150 yards because it was too cold, Brady was throwing darts down the field, going against the wind, and clearly out performed Manning soundly throwing over double years Manning put up.
Manning might be the smartest QB ever, does all these great things at the line of scrimmage, no question. No one is better at out thinking a defense than he is. I'll take Brady, his moxy, toughness, competitive spirit, and his cannon arm any day. He can go anywhere and play in any condition and light the scoreboard up.
As for Brees, he's definitely a HOF football player, and definitely an all-time great. I wouldn't dispute that at all. But if we're talking about one of the greatest ever, I think that's when you leave him off the discussion.
He's definitely not a choker like Manning in the post season though. Usually when his teams have gotten beat, they were suppose to lose. No one thought they'd beat Seattle, 49ers, the Bears at home, the only team thought they should have beat was the Seahawks in 2011 (was it?) and as you can see even with an average team, they're still tough to beat in that place.
I wouldn't list Brees as a fail in the playoffs compared to Peyton, who clearly is not great and has had a lot of meltdown on his watch during big playoff games.
Manning is definitely overall the better of the two though. But who would I take in the post season between the two? Honestly, I don't know how you make the case of Manning over a Brees, or Rodgers even at this point. Do I dare even say his brother Eli too, who basically is garbage every other time but the playoffs?
