I'd like to see the Browns try to sign the following...

Eric Steinbach G Bengals
Nate Clements CB Bills
Michael "Burner" Turner RB Chargers
Adalius Thomas LB Ravens

Steinbach is the best O-Lineman Available and Cincy might not have the cash to keep him.

Clements the best corner with roots to Ohio as he went to HS here and was a former Buckeye. Franchised last year so he may slip away from them.

Turner is going to fetch solid money elsewhere he's deserving of a starting job but he won't get it over the best player in the NFL LaDainian Tomlinson.

Thomas is the best LB available they've been giving out plenty of extensions so maybe he could be let go ala Edge Hartwell.

We should have 35 million or so to spend so we could ideally get all of them if Lerner decides to open up the pocketbooks...

I don't see why we would target Thomas when we have Wimbley, Andra, Jackson and now it looks like Leon Williams is going to be pretty solid for us. That's a pretty good young unit that can grow.

Id love Stienbach, I've been mentioning him since last year so hopefully we can get him away from Cinci.

But Id like to see us go after Schaub, the QB from Atlanta. He can compete with Frye for the starting job and I beleive he will win it.

If we don't draft a LT in the draft, Leonard Davis probably will not re-sign with the Cardinals, he would be a nice addition and that would allow Tucker to move back to RG, where he is better suited. That is if he returns at all.

Terdell Sands is a guy I would look at for DT, he goes 67'', 340 lbs and he is only five years in the NFL. He hasn't started much, but with Ted getting old, he could step in and play some big minutes and it would create a nice little rotation.

Jared Allen is a DE I'd look at ...Im not sure if he fits into the 3-4 mold, but he is a young DE with a lot of talent, he will probably get a huge deal because he is a RFA.

I agree that we should target Clements, but he might get the franchise tag so I think we might focus more on a guy named Asante Samuel from the Pats, Romeo was there when he was a rookie and he played with Willie so maybe he can get him to come over to the Browns.

Agree with all of those Mac but remember this...

The Jets tried to deal Abraham for Schaub and the Falcons laughed in their face...the Falcons received an offer of a 2nd Rounder for Schaub and turned that down as well..

Schaub would make Charlie look like a journeyman CFL Player..Schaub is a stud. I doubt we have anything to offer them for Schaub unless it was Braylon for Schaub and "said pick" since they have no one for Vick outside Crumpler..

I'd love a huge mound of a DT in the middle that can give more than 20 snaps a game. Ted can even play situationally and mentor him and any other DT's...

I'd like an upgrade at DE if possible Roye has another 2 years I'd say but McKinley isn't a starter he'd be a better backup IMO.

Can Clements receive the franchise 2 straight years though? I'm pretty sure you can only do it once or twice and he may have had it twice..not totally sure on that.

Asante Samuel would be another top notch target FA as well...I watched one game where he completely dominated..granted it was Rex Grossman but 3 picks is still 3 picks..

Our problem is we have a lot of starters who on most teams are 2nd Stringers and once one goes down we're basically playing 3rd stringers against starters and we normally face several injuries at the same position...depth is key on this team.

That's why I'd like to draft Joe Thomas at OT or trade down and add depth and start plugging holes.

Why wouldn't the Bengals franchise Steinbach?

He's not a free agent yet, but the Packers are seriously considering cutting Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila because he can't stop the run in the 4-3. However, I think he could be killer outside linebacker in the 3-4.

KGB would be an absolute assassin in our defense...but we'd have to cut someone loose...Willie Mac looks to be the candidate as he is up in age..but I wouldn't mind him getting a few plays in here and there...mentoring Kam some more.

Leon isn't ready to start he could be valuable on special teams however..

Leon Williams gets pressure on the quaterback so much more in his little playing time than Davis and Jackson did. Whenver Davis rushes the passer and gets a hand on him he is done for. Williams allways gets close the the qb.

Burner Turner will probably get a high RFA tag(1st and third), so unless you want to give up #3 overall and a 3rd, I can't see making him an offer.

Then again, if you don't want to end up overpaying the #3 pick, it seems like an interesting idea. I have no idea how the rules work, so perhaps you can trade down and then offer a contract to Turner. But I seemed to think that the pick you give up has to be no worse than the one you had by default.

Someone tried telling me on another board that Turner won't require a 1st Rounder..

We should get a vet QB as well.

I like Terdell and Robaire Smith

as for more OG's, I also like Dielman from SD and Dockery from Washington

I also read some where that Steinbach has already mentioned he won't be back to cincy.

Michael Turner would be an awesome awesome pickup

Matt Schaub would be an awesome awesome pickup

we couldnt pick up anyone better than those two

Steinbach would be a very good addition at a position of need....

O Line...DLine....QB...RB..........this is what we need to focus on in the offseason

Because of Hutchinson and the Vikings....if they tagged him, they'd have to pay him near $10 million a year. That's insane.

If Steinbach leaves we'd be morons not to sign him..then again the Cardinals have O-Line woes and much more expensive pieces to have to block for..."Leinart Edge" and the recipients in Boldin and Fitz..and they have more money..

The Cards have money but they arent interested in signing their own FA OT in Leonard Davis..I doubt he goes to Arizona.

I believe the Chargers have 4 different tender options.

Around the min sal-gives them the right of first refusal
Around 700k-Gives them the same pick as the round Turner was drafted in(5th?)
Around 1.5 million-Gives them a 2nd round pick
Around 2.2 million-Gives them a first and third round pick.

Yeah, the OL tender amount is going to be rediculous, since the big contracts to Pace/Hutch/Walter Jones/Ogden/ et al are all hitting the fat years in terms of dollars.

I hope you guys sign steinbach too, one less guy to block for Carla.
