The Andre Drummond Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This thread is such a pissing contest.

I saw Drummond's stat line and said, "Wow. Looks like he played a fantastic game." Then I saw the highlights and he looks like Deandre Jordan. He never got boxed out and defenses chose to rotate off of him throughout the entire game.

I really like the looks of him defensively. Those blocks were great and he is obviously a good rebounder. The offensive output as you suggest is not that impressive. No one put a body on him at all. His mobility is great tho. He is very quick. I'd say above average instincts on cuts and duck ins. He is obviously very very strong. All great. I would say that that kind of scoring is not going to happen much in the playoffs, however.

So my question is really an easy thing to answer, isnt it?

And how am I being an immature poster when I am discussing/asking about the topic of this thread?

If you have to ask the question, it is telling enough.

You don't seem to understand that his repeated refusals to answer your question have already made your point. You continuing to ask the question and him continuing not to answer doesn't add anything. You want him to admit that you were right, and he is never, ever going to do that no matter how many times you keep asking the question.

not at all. its a simplified qestion and building a championship team is more complicated than that. Waiters was the right pick because the Cavs wanted a big man who could post up and shoot from range. Drummond still as to date has done neither. therefore Waiters was still the best pick. now if Grant had wanted a specialist who was a rim ptector with no range but effective in the resticted area then he would of drafted drummond. I still dont think the Drummond route would of been the best rout for a championship and I dont think the Cavs would have a better record with him on the club than they do now. not without some major roster changes starting with a point guard who can get him the ball

Man if WAS, CLE, GSW or even SAC paired Drummond with Wall/Irving/Curry/Cousins(mother of god if it works), it would've been a franchise changer. Especially GSW. Holy smokes if they had Curry Klay Drummond, what a fit...

TOR Terrence Ross over Drummond is just the worst one though. I mean at least take Lamb over Ross. At least Grant probably thought Waiters was a star. Infuriating part about the Ross pick is nothing from the Raptors indicating they they had a gem and star instead of a role player. Very little enthusiasm or hyping of Ross after the pick, unlike marketing Derozan and JV as stars. Pick was some combination of a) A shooter would fit great with Steve Nash b) We don't want to pair another C with Valanciunas and stunt his development c) Dwane Casey likes Ross and developing Drummond will be hard so let's not put that on him or even d) Bargs is still the future beside JV. So they make a pick based on a 37 FA who hasn't signed, a C who hasn't played yet, a crappy coach and one of the most overpaid players in the league. Chandler Bing: Could Bryan Colangelo BE any more incompetent?

Cousins gets better by the day if they had paired him with Drummond, my god they would be lethal

Great point. I neglected the part where Drummond looked like the defensive presence that everyone has been clamoring Jordan to become for years now. To me, Drummond's quick hands are his most special defensive tool at this point. I'm still looking for him to become the dominant post defender he's capable of being. At this point, however, he's a hell of a mass and he's a pretty good weakside presence.

Made me think of this sequence from last season where he stripped D-Wade clean twice in 2 possessions. Guys that are 280 pounds shouldn't be able to have quick reflexes like that.

Mods can tell me if I am doing something wrong here.

Okay. Let it go. You've asked it multiple times. You're not wrong to ask, but when you do it so often, it turns into trolling (which a few posters have reported).

Just because you ask a question doesn't mean anyone has to answer it. So, just let it go. Or use the Ignore feature.

Thx for typing a bunch of bull but CG still fucked up. It's ok to admit it. You don't have to su...I mean defend him so hard. :chuckles:

I can't help but think that Lebron would be salivating at the thought of coming back next year to play with a young core of Drummond and Kyrie.

Kyrie
Oladipo
LeBron
Tristan
Drummond

They were right there for the taking. Only in Cleveland

Butterfly effect man. There's no guarantee we would have gotten the number one pick had we picked Drummond over Waiters. I do agree that I would rather have Drummond and Oladipo over Waiters and Bennett though.

But but but, according to Torn Drummond isn't a difference maker and wouldn't have won us many games anyways

Either way Ben McLemore would have also been a nice fit with that core as well.

Kyrie
McLemore
LeBron
Tristan
Drummond

Only in Cleveland are we the only city with a 50 year championship drought and none of our teams are even close to sniffing one. You know damn well what I mean.
