Karma, I think this topic was meant by which player had a better performance, and does not include who's team won or lost.

Going by each players individual performance, and not whether his team won, LeBron had a much better game than Kobe.

If my teams superstar has a big game, it means he lead the team to victory. I dont care for the statline. Kobe did what it took to win, James did not.

To me your performance effects the whole team. James's might have the assists numbers, but he failed to lead the team to victory. Kobe may not have set up his teammates, but he did what he needed to do to get the W. End of story.

Kobe annihilated the opponent....destroyed them SINGLE-HANDEDLY. Forget the assists, he didn't need to pass the ball....HE SHOULDN'T HAVE PASSED THE BALL. He was in a ZONE that you see every few years from an athlete.
The poll questions is "which is more memorable"....not "who do you like more"? No one cept for a few Cleveland fans even remember Lebron's game now....people will be talking about Kobe beating the Mavs 62-61 in 3 quarters for years.
Is Kobe selfish? Hell yes! Doesn't take away from one of the most incredible performances in years.....and he won!

That sums it up in right there, 'buddy'. You should have said in your first post - "I'm not going to look at the performance, I'm ONLY going to look at which team the guys play for and disregard all other logical factors. I am a homer....I pick Lebron for no other reason than he plays for the Cavs." We could all be like you and say the Cavs are #1 in the NBA, but what fun would that be. It's much more fun, AND REALISTIC, to talk about where we have flaws and what changes need to be made to get to number #1.

As for "hatin" on your own teams.....wasn't it YOU who said "im a big fan but i cant be in a room with someone as dumb as mike brown." You were also the one saying "eric Snow can't do shit." Isn't that "hatin" on your own team? Or are just you allowed to pick the areas the Cavs are defficient and complain.

No brainer ....Kobe's game was one og the best I've seen since Michael Jordan was dominating the league. Kobe also played solid defense and lead his team to victory. In Lebron's game ....where we lost. Lebron lost sight of his defensive responsibilities during a run on points in the late 1st and early second qtr. Lebron has great numbers and is a great player at his age, but, when comparing those two games ...Kobe's was clearly the better game in terms of how it translated to team performance ....and that's what it's really all about.

I remember Pistol Pete lighting teams up for 50 pts and the Jazz losing by 10-20 pts ...numbers mean nothing unless they translate to a team's success.

I'm sure if it was LeBron that scored 62 points to the other teams' 61, then we'd excuse his would-be 0 assists.

And if Kobe scored 52 points and 7 assists and lost? We'd still call him a ball-hog.

Not that it would ever happen, that LeBron get 0 assists, but homerism clouds many peoples' eyes here.

It really comes down to the W-L column.
LeBron, despite his efforts, still did not carry his team to victory with his performance.
Kobe did the right things, despite being a ball hog, to lead his team to victory.

Had we beat Milwaukee, my vote would go to LeBron. But we lost, so any performance is meaningless.
