The Brandon Roy train wreck

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Feel terrible for this guy, Eddy Curry and Kwame Brown make millions with steady carriers and Brandon Roy has 7 knee surgeries forcing retirement. The game of life.

He was dealt a beautiful, but painful hand. He had an opportunity that 99.9% of the world never will, and yet for a fault not his own he had it all taken away from him. I actually feel terrible for the guy, his situation is as bad a Hill's imo, although despite his troubles Hill has been able to have a fairly long, and productive career.

With players like the GOAT, and Bias, their troubles were created by themselves, with Roy he has done nothing but try to play the game he obviously loves. Poor guy.

Brandon Roy admitted that his knees have reached Level III arthritis.

"Level IV," Roy says fearlessly, "is when you get a knee replacement."

Roy has made peace with the possibility that he might not return from his latest arthroscopic procedure.

"I wouldn't be disappointed either way," he said. "If it ends in three weeks, it ends. It's over. I'm totally satisfied with what I've done. I know the sacrifice and the effort that I put into coming back. It took a lot of discipline to get to where I am. That's all I care about: how hard I've worked. So I can't say I'm disappointed, that would be selfish. I was just a normal player my junior year in college, and everything since has been a major blessing.

"I've had an unbelievable run."

Someone who actually knows what humble means I would assume. Hopefully he was smart with his money.
