The Cavs vs Bulls Series

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is such a bizarre take. Any honest fan would look back and admit we hated Miami because they were GOOD, really good. Sure Riley is a snake and Wade is a flopping bitch, but the thing that bothered me most was that they were winning and their jerseys didnt say 'Cleveland' on em.

Now our team is good, and we get shit for being a little overconfident like pretty much any fan base that's ever had a good team? You think Golden State fans arent talking championship and overlooking the Spurs right now? I call BS.

My mantra hasnt changed - Just give me a title before I die, dont care who, dont care how. This team is a contender and fans are enjoying it as they should be.

This team is really good and really fun to watch. Coming from the days of watching Lebron leave followed by Antawn Jamison and Anthony Parker trying to pick up the pieces, it's actually fun to see Cleveland fans get their swagger back again. Name a fan base that deserves it more. Why not get a little chesty? We're back baby!

And I'll respect the Bulls when their long haired goon quits flapping his gums and actually wins something, when their 7 footers quit flopping like it's soccer, when their star PG actually plays....

I didn't hate Miami because they were good. I didn't like Miami when they were the Celtics and became top dogs with no struggle or previous visits to the playoffs. Maybe not the bulls, but if I were a Hawks fan, I would be so pissed that a team that was a bottom feeder signed a couple of players this year to suddenly become a powerhouse and really threaten a dominant season.

I dunno. The Bulls arent a bad team by any stretch. They are a good team, and making fun of a great player who has had some terrible injuries is bush league.

We haven't won anything yet.

Cavs would smack Chicago in 5. They're not that good and I think they hurt us more with Brooks and his speed than Rose who is easier to defend.

How does a statement that claims rose would be easier to guard than Brooks get liked. Mindboggling

Rose the most overhyped player I can remember

Was told he had the heart of a lion then he doesn't play when he's medically cleared

Noah is that guy who knows how to work his fans and still get paid
He does all that over the top stuff cause he knows he's been garbage

Lbj doesn't have time for that nonsense
He plays the game for the love of rings not for meaningless trash talking

I went back and watched some highlights and focused specifically on Noah. When LeBron dunked in traffic he looked so exasperated, threw his arms up and rolled his eyes. Dude was so mad. Repeated this gesture after almost every big Cavs bucket. When one of the players you're relying on the most has an attitude and personality like that, it shows how easily they're shaken. I'm not saying the Bulls are a paper tiger, but...I don't think they're as tough as they'd lead you to believe.

I'm starting to realize this is Noah's character more and more. The guy is overall a solid basketball player, a lot of times he gives it his all and can't make some crucial plays, a lot of times by his hustle and passing. But I don't think he really gets into opposing players heads like he thinks he is. Perhaps his toughness works in the Bulls favor when they play lesser teams, but when they're outmatched his body language is terrible and he starts running his mouth a lot postgame.

Whatever Noah's issue is, he hates Cleveland and I think it drives him mad that the Cavs are once again better than the Bulls. He seems to model his act after KG, but LeBron isn't phased by it at all and knows he always has the upper hand on him. So it's basically just let the dog do the barking and know he doesn't have the bite to back it up.

If you look at Noah's post game comments on Sunday versus the ones he made in 2008 or 09, I think he's softened a bit. He used to say Cleveland sucks in general, but on Sunday he did give some credit and say it's an amazing place to play basketball.

Theory - could he be tipping his hand a little bit hinting at an interest of wanting to play here? :)

I really don't know how I'd feel about Noah playing here to be honest. I know he is the archetypical "player you love to have on your team, and hates if he isn't"- kinda guy and he would but still.... It's just, friggin' Joakim Noah man.

I'm pretty sure I had the same thoughts about Perkins before.........and now I wish Noah would take his place.

We haven't won anything yet.

Again, why do you care how a team is built as long as it wins? Will the Cavs title count less because they didnt pay their dues and draft their entire roster? Of course not.

I mean, players change teams and affect the landscape of the NBA every year. Half the Hawks top 7 (Teague, Millsap, Korver, probably more) came via trade/FA. Still dont get it.

But I dont think this is about the Cavs being an overnight sensation. I know your type of fan. Fair or not, any time I hear "we havent won anything yet" I cant help but immediately assume you're the fan who cant enjoy anything. Maybe because the Cavs traded your boy Waiters (were you in the better than Irving camp?), so you're gonna watch with your arms folded until they lose and unleash an I-told-you-so rant. I wonder if I'm onto something here?

Frankly, it's your reading comp that's bush league. I never said the Bulls were terrible, just that they havent won anything and their players flop and talk too much. And when I said I'll respect them when Rose can stay on the court, that's actually a statement that he's a good player if you think about it.

Try to enjoy the ride, have some fun like the rest of us.

Just being real. I'm definitely a Waiters fan, but I'm pretty disappointed he didn't build on his success at the end of last year. I didn't like some inside info on how some of the other players treated him because he is from a really hard scrabble background compared to the rest. Lebron was right that it was Dion's mental game that needed to grow the most. I never thought he was more talented than Kyrie, but I was for the Curry/Klay for Kyrie trade. I think Dion can still do it, but he has to grow up and use his passing more.

I have a code for how I act so as not to be a sore winner/loser. I don't rub it in when I see the Cavs at someone else's stadium. I don't wish for injuries, and I don't disrespect teams that have been together and fought hard because I want to see my team act that way.

I have a lot of fun with this team. I don't think we don't deserve to win, but buying an instant success team causes a lot of haters and I have been one before when thought it was our time and they knocked us off.

It's not that Cavatt isn't enjoying it. I don't know how you could conclude that. Are Spurs fans not enjoying being great? It doesn't mean you have to get cocky to enjoy a great team. My issue is simply like, we just sucked, and we know what it's like to be shit on because we sucked. We know what poor winners say and do, because we have heard it all. Now that we are good, do you want to get them back? That'll teach them! Look at us now! All that just isn't for me, or Cavatt, or some fans. 2 wrongs don't write a "right", right? I think it's inevitable that many of our fans go overboard with cockiness, so I am not crusading against it. I will accept what I cannot change, if you will. I plan on delivering thousands of forceful ass smacks if we win the 'ship, to all fans of all teams, until I get arrested.

Bro. Re-read what you wrote. Why the attacks man? People enjoy the game, journey, and team for different reasons. Let's talk basketball, let's talk fanhood and how fans can/should act, but let's not go there with the personal stuff, not for a whole post.

I don't think that "buying an instant success team" pays homage to the complexity of what went down and how it all came together. If success could be bought, then everyone would do it. There's so many variables, so many technical aspects and so many unique moments that made this team possible, and a TON of luck too.

But yes, going from horrible to great does create that perception, but under the microscope, what was bought is a red herring.

Whoa, no attacks here. I know the quality of poster @Cavatt is, I just didnt really get why he was chastising Cavs fans for getting cocky when we're no different than any other fan base. When your team is really good (and ours definitely qualifies), part of the fun of being a fan is reveling in it. I dont see the harm.

Nothing personal at all, I was trying to get a handle on why he felt that way, where he was coming from with his comment that Cavs fans are turning into Celtic/Laker/Heat assholes. And I'll repeat, I never once took joy in Derrick Rose being injured. I want him healthy and I want the Cavs to beat the Bulls asses, no excuses.

For me, nothing would be sweeter than destroying this mouthy, flopping Bulls team in the playoffs. I hope we get them in round 2 for that reason.

@jlegg21 yeah its not personal. No biggie. This is going to be a season we remember for a long time and hopefully it changes the culture of Cleveland sports.

Dont get me wrong, screw the Bulls. I just think they do things the right way, and have had some tough breaks I hope the Cavs can avoid.

We'd take Noah in a heart beat, and embrace him as a fan favorite too. I get it, people don't like him, and that's the point, you're not supposed to like him. One, he's pretty good. Two, he goes out of his way to "try" to get under the skin of the other opponent.

I admire it to be honest, the way he conducts himself is fine. He shouldn't kiss LeBron's ass, nor anyone else on the Cavs.

Do I think he's kind of a dickhead? Sure, but in this day in age, where everything seems too buddy-buddy, I appreciate the old school mentality, where Noah just says fuck that, if you're not on my team, then fuck you. That's how it should be. Noah shouldn't like us, and we shouldn't like him.

The guy is actually a damn good teammate, and the kind of players you love to have on your side.

I have nothing respect for him as a player. But I'll be the first fan to make fun of him too if we beat him down in the post season. :chuckle:
