How can the Heat possibly AFFORD Lillard, or have the assets to TRADE for him? Why would Portland DO that?

Because that’s what Dame wants. Duh. The only reason the league exists is to give Dame what he wants, and report stories on Dame. The Blazers aren’t allowed to make a trade that might be better for them. They must trade him to Miami because he has no leverage, doesn’t have a no trade clause, and they just drafted his replacement.
If he wants to win, I’d send him to a better situation, but I’m not going to send him to Miami for less than what another team would offer me.

The Dame hatred is a bit confusing. He wants to go after a championship while he still has prime years left in him. Can't fault him for that.
