The fans are hurting the team

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
it really doesn't matter how long we signed him. Signing him or someone else to a shorter at that point doesn't really buy us anything (under the assumption Gilbert wills pend the money it takes to win). We are over the cap next year with or without damon - it's not like we could have saved the $3.5 million to use next year.

I am not getting cheap. I dont care too much for the per year, just the fact we signed him for 4 seasons. Just because our owner will spend up doesn't mean we give multi year deals to the undeserved. We are not a charity.

We do that we end up like the Trail Blazers..

I hope everyone is watching the spurs/pistons games. Even down 20 in each half, the fans stayed behind the team. Not one boo all night. And what happens - they've gone on a 10-0 run and cut the last 20 point lead in half. WHo knows if they end up winning. But it certainly helps the team to have fans that stay behind them the whole time. 17-1 at home is the result thus far.

blah...this conversation is getting boring.

If these grown men players actually get down when fans boo them..than it;s pretty pathetic that they play this game.

do the spurs have someone who runs their mouth like jones does???

NO

How about if they get up when they get cheered? Is that pathetic too? Or is that simply being human?

Cheers are motivation..

If you wanna hear cheers all you gotta do is..you know..play good. That shouldnt be too hard to do.

The fact is, the Spurs play hard and smart every night. The Cavalier's dont come close to this and certain fans react to that.

This is a wise thread. Sometimes, when the fans don't cheer, it hurts your motivation. When they do, it helps. Wow.

Sometimes, when the ball goes in the hoop, that helps your motivation, too.

By the way, did the Spurs play hard and smart when they got their ass handed to them on a platter by the Pistons?

The fact the Spurs missed alot of good looks did not come down to not being smart or lack of effort. San Antonio busted their guts but lacked anyone to hit with any consistency. When that happens against the NBA's best team presently you get beaten handsomely.

I think the fans walked away thinking damn those Pistons are good. I doubt we said the same against the Hawks and Knicks.

"players can and do piss off their opponents and take them out of their game plan. YOu don't think there's been any players determined to shut damon jones up?"

How could someone who is 10 for 47 since Christmas piss anyone off? If I was guarding him, I would think it was funny because he is making himself look stupid.

I was talking about before his slump.

i've got it!

the cav's just need to inform the team that it is a cleveland tradition to yell "boo" when supporting one's favorite sports team.

that way, the fans can vent their frustration and boo lustily, while the team will get all psyched over all of the local support that they are getting, with nary a bad feeling from negative thoughts and unfair criticism. afterall, booing is all in the ear of the beholder.
