The Finals | Game 1 | Cavs @ Warriors | June 2nd, 2016 | 9:00pm EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We have to stop missing bunnies.

That is one major advantage OKC had the stalled the Warriors pace.

Adams, Kanter, Ibaka finished very well around the rim.

We missed about 7 bunnies today and a few of them led to the points. Now a few of those were because the refs weren't calling the foul, but we have to play through it.

Golden State got back into that OKC series once Westbrook started blowing layups/throwing up crazy shots and feeding their fast break.

Love, LeBron, Tristan, and Kyrie have to finish much better against this team.

This time iso didn't kill us, as it was just our offense of last resort. There was no off the ball movement and no offensive aggression by anyone other than LeBron or Kyrie. No one looking for their shot and no going back up strong 2 inches away from the rim. No cutters, nothing. I do hate the fact the sometimes it doesn't even look like the offense, outside of Bron and Kyrie, even show up to the game. The refs set the tone that we weren't going to get calls, so why try to get bailed out by drawing fouls. Just bad offensive mindset tonight made Bron and Kyrie try to do too much. And we still had a chance to win, so that's promising.
thats the result of iso ball. it kill the ball movement and cancel out the other players. i seen this iso since mike brown was here. i know the end result. we ran iso in the post most of the 1st 2 quarters, it was not last resort.

OK, I see where this is going... I'm not going to engage in this argument. Its nonsense.
You see what?

There's fandom, then there's actual basketball to be discussed.

I'm not saying Delly should get minutes over Kyrie but instead stating a fact that we are clearly at a disadvantage with two of our starting five giving up so much defensively by shear game planning on Golden States part. They switched on Kyrie numerous times and took advantage of it. Effort or no effort.

I don't care about emotion at this point, I'm discussing solutions to an obvious problem.

That's where this "argument" is going.

It's not about what I took from tonight. What I took from tonight was mentioned a few pages ago.

What needs to happen is one of Love or Irving not starting the next game. Irving was continually switched to and taken advantage of.

If you did not witness this, then yes, we watched two completely different games.
dude i dont know what you're talking about. Love and Irving played good defense. it was the offense that was the problem. and the fact that Livingston was torching our shorter point guards.

Yeap, I'm on a fan site. I guess nobody sees value in how Golden State picked us apart.

It's not about the players as much as it is about how to lessen the burden on the team by incorporating the best possible lineup defensively.

We haven't played Golden State type ball all season and using mismatches to actually win games unless it's the occasional mismatch on LeBron. Then we resort to airing the ball out numerous times. I'm not expecting that to change now so we must improve on the defensive end, no?

Whelp, I tend to post rational thoughts after a win/loss but I would like to suspend that principle and please let me rant about game 1 particularly....

What a fucking wasted opportunity. I realistically thought once Cleveland got the lead in the 3rd, all was right in the world and they may win it, fuck me because I was wrong.

When I say wasted opportunity, I mean when in the hell is Thompson going to have 9 and Curry 11 and you still lose by how much? 45-10 bench points? For real? What the fuck? Ugggghhhhh.....

I don't know what to think at this point. Curry/Thompson aren't going to suck together again probably the rest of the series and you turn the ball over 19 times and let Livington have a career playoff high on you. I am trying to think who can guard their fucking backup point guard? I mean really...

Would have liked to have seen Smith show up. I thought James had a subpar night by his own standards and I was intrigued by the play of Love. That is about it. I hope this is a one off and I hope I can fucking see this team win on Sunday because I might pull my hair out if I do not see that. Am I over reacting? Fuck, yes. Should I be? No. Fan is short for fanatic, we have every right to over exaggerate.

I just want this team to succeed.....

Meh, its only 1 game but at this point in the postseason you don't spot the other team a game.

Shit happens, but the Cavs also let those guys feel comfortable.

There might have been contests, but Livingston's length has made him a tough midrange guy for a while. Iggy's hit or miss. Personally, I feel like I'd take my chances with the D-gameplan. I didn't feel it was the Halfcourt D that killed the Cavs so much as the Transition D, and their utter inability to get good shots for the last bit of the 3rd & beginning of 4th

We had amazing chance to win the game one but beat us livingston.

Series doesn't start until home team loses.

No reason to get too down.

No team needs to lose a home game, but then the Warriors win.
This was a game up for grabs and they blew it.
Just listening to Lue and he's happy with how they played, well that's it for me.

Lue has been playing the starters for 80- 85% unless there is blowout. The warriors have given their bench more exposure over the season and they have more depth/versatility. Lue is going to live and die with the starters and i cant see him changing too much. but will he pull a rabbit out of the hat if the starters dont get it done

If you literally want to add nothing to this thread or board, have at it.

You aren't the posting police. The Cavs flushed a golden opportunity to steal a game against a better team.

If you want to call people babies and pussies, go for it. That's obviously what this is all about right?
You can pretend that "this was our only shot to win the series" whatever you want. I call it being afraid. Pessimism or realism or whatever you want to call it is just not having any faith in our team.

Forgive me if I think the game 1 overreactions are lame.

Honestly, I think we will win most games when Curry and Thompson are shut down like that. Especially in Cleveland.

Yeah, but how often can you count on both curry and thompson being shut down like that ?
