Not sure...it reminds me of last year's game against Florida, and the Miami - OSU BCS Championship game.
Miami waas supposed to be so ultra-talented that OSU didn't stand a chance. Miami was outplayed in that game. And even though there was the questionable call in the end zone, no body talks about all the non-calls that went Miami's way. Miami's O-line could not stop that OSU pass rush...at all. I'm a trenches kinda guy, and Miami held OSU pretty much on every play. They just could not stop Will Smith and Matt Wilhelm. They were getting manhandled even with the holding.
Then, last season, it went OSU's way. Everyone stated that the "real" National Championship game was the OSU - Mich game...and that the winner of that game had pretty much sewn up the Title. Well, both Michigan and OSU lost their respective bowl games...convincingly.
Again, this season the underdog approach helps OSU. They are being written off by the media because of a supposedly weak Big Ten. The Big Ten may be down, but by no means is it weak. Tressel is usually one of the best coaches in the game at adjustments, motivation, and game preparation. Miles seems to lack some on the motivation side, with poor performances against some weak teams.
This Championship game is obviously huge for both schools, but it is also huge for another...Michigan. If Miles can have a superb coaching effort against Tressel, then Michigan should pursue him with great vigor, pulling out all the stops. If Miles gets slaughtered by Tressel, then Michigan will probably let him stay at LSU, and go after another candidate.
Personally, I think Harbaugh (among the D-1 coaching Michigan alumni) would be a better coach, overall, but Miles may be the better recruiter...but that's for another thread.
