The General Terrorist Rampage Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Not according to the information available.

And the question for the right is, IF we really want to scapegoat mental illness as the sole reason for this, why do they keep cutting health funding? It's not as if the Democrats wouldn't like to improve mental healthcare too, let's work on that.

But let's also work on guns because they are demonstrably a large portion of the problem (that problem being gun deaths, whether that's suicide, homicide, or mass shootings).

Just incase you want a why did I click Disagree, it's cause I disagree w/ your summarization there. You've stated that one several times, and I don't want to keep arguing over it, so X. No offense intended. It's just a disagree. :)

A call to an ACTIVE SHOOTER at a SCHOOL??? Or just an active shooter D/V domestic style?
At a school. Unless they have info on the location of the shooter(s)

Which part of the summarization? My conclusion that we won't solve the problem without gun control?

Every other developed country on earth has video games and Hollywood movies.

It ain’t the entertainment. That’s not the same as a weapon that kills people.

There are years of evidence to suggest video games do not lead to violence.

Don't believe this is accurate... I know a lot of cops.. different states. ALL have had the same training, have the same protocol.. an ACTIVE school shooter... ENGAGE IMMEDIATELY

We agree to disagree... kids do not differentiate between shooting someone 15 times with an AR in a video game... call of duty type... and shooting someone in real life with a real AR blasting a 55 gr bullet out at 3000 feet per sec..., in their minds you just hit the reset button and everybody stands back up

Is this the case in every state? I think I read that in some states they are to radio in, manage shit outside as the kids come pouring out and await sufficient back-up.

If true, the people who came up with that protocol are asshats.

What the fuck is "sufficient backup" when you can't even know how many shooters are inside? Enough cops so that they don't have to take off their socks to count the dead kids?

And honestly, if there are kids being murdered as every second ticks by, any man with a pair off balls goes in regardless of "protocol."

So, the cops at our training stressed "get the kids out of the building" and "give info on how many shooters, what types of weapons, and locations" as our main jobs. I 100% remember him saying what the exact police protocol is. And since it'll be chaotic for us in the building, it isn't like we need to know what the police are doing (although, they did stress DO NOT pick up the assailants weapons).

I do remember some sort of discussion where if a lone officer shows up, they won't just charge in. At the very least they'll wait for backup. Now, since police protocol wasn't the focal point of the training, I can't say I remember a lot of it. Is it possible Ohio police are trained not to go in solo?

Nah - if that were true every kid who played video games would be a serial killer. They know. The people who do this always have real-world grudges against real people. Perhaps games may make them think it will be more fun, but they know they are taking real lives that won't come back.

Don't give them the moral excuse of not understanding the full consequences of what they do.

There are countless studies that prove this false.

It’s an excuse, one that every other country has.

Why not implement a solution on a national level instead of depending on 50 individual states to implement their own solution. We all know some states won't do anything and other states will have their solution compromised by their neighboring states inaction.

Because things like reporting troublesome people to the local cops, integrating mental heath issues with the court system etc., have to be done by state personnel because states/counties/localities handle all those functions generally. The feds literally don't have constitutional authority for common crimes, or to directly perform mental health services.

If you think kids are that big of idiots then i don’t know what to tell you man.

They have no idea what "taking real lives means"
